GSL Trainee Project Executive Recruitment 2026: Overview

Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL), a Government of India undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, is engaging Trainee Project Executives across engineering and finance disciplines. GSL designs and builds ships for the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard and overseas customers, so the work can connect office-based planning with yard, ship and project-site activity. This drive brings forward unfilled positions from two earlier Trainee Project Executive advertisements and opens them to applicants across India.

The recruitment covers Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Finance and Naval Architecture streams under one notice and one application window. Each stream has its own academic route, while all appointees join the same project-executive framework. The opportunity is meant for early-career professionals who already have practical exposure through relevant work or graduate apprenticeship training.

Posts and Disciplines

• Mechanical: Project work linked to machinery, production systems, marine engineering and mechanical integration in the shipyard or at another work site.
• Electrical: Work around shipboard and yard electrical systems, power distribution, equipment integration, testing and project coordination.
• Electronics: Support for communication, instrumentation, control and other electronic systems used in shipbuilding projects.
• Finance: Project-linked accounts, costing, budget follow-up, compliance and financial reporting for business and production teams.
• Naval Architecture: Hull-form, ship-design, construction and integration work connecting drawings and calculations with production activity.

Post-wise Duties

Mechanical

You will support mechanical project execution, follow machinery or production work, coordinate technical inputs and help resolve site issues. Your assignments may move between design support, the yard, ships and project locations.

Electrical

You will assist with electrical-system planning, installation and testing, keep technical work aligned with project requirements and coordinate with production and other engineering teams.

Electronics

You will work with electronic, communication, instrumentation or control systems, helping project teams track integration, testing, documentation and technical follow-up.

Finance

You will support financial control for projects through accounts, cost review, budget tracking and compliance work. You may coordinate with commercial, procurement and production teams to keep records and reports current.

Naval Architecture

You will help connect ship-design and construction requirements, review project information and support coordination between design, production and inspection teams.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Fixed tenure: The engagement begins with a two-year contract and may be extended by up to one year if GSL needs the role and your performance is satisfactory. The contract ends automatically unless GSL confirms an extension in writing.
• No regular claim: These are not regular posts, and completing the contract does not assure permanent employment. Trainees who complete the initial tenure may receive internal marks weightage for a later Junior Project Executive recruitment under GSL rules.
• Wide posting liability: GSL can place or transfer you at its yard, another unit, a project site, on board a ship, elsewhere in India or abroad. Your department can also change according to project needs.
• Prior-employment benefits: Previous service benefits and pay protection do not transfer to GSL. A No Objection Certificate is not mandatory at application stage, but a selected person must provide a proper relieving letter before joining.
• Reservation documents: Reserved-category certificates must follow the prescribed Government of India format. A certificate issued in another language needs a self-certified English or Hindi translation.
• Communication: Call letters and recruitment updates are sent through the registered email address or posted on the GSL careers page. You are responsible for keeping the email account active and checking it regularly.
• Travel support: Eligible outstation applicants called for the final interaction can claim the allowed rail fare after producing journey proof. Payment is made electronically under company rules.
• Management discretion: GSL may change the openings, use the selected panel for later needs or cancel the exercise. Any recruitment dispute falls under Goa jurisdiction.
