IPRCL Manager (Traffic Planning) Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Port Rail and Ropeway Corporation Limited (IPRCL) is looking for a seasoned railway planner to work as Manager (Traffic Planning) under Vacancy Circular RE-29/2026. IPRCL is a joint venture of 11 major ports and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, working under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways to build rail evacuation systems that raise the cargo capacity of India's major ports. The post is in Mumbai, home to IPRCL's corporate office. This is a re-employment opening for retired officers — the role suits someone who has spent years drawing yard plans and planning train movements, and wants to keep doing that work.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Who it is for: Officers who retired on superannuation or took voluntary retirement (VR) from the Railways, other government departments, central PSUs, ports or government-controlled joint ventures. Your service experience must be in Traffic Planning.
• Grade at retirement: Your last regular grade must match the CDA or IDA scale named in the circular. Higher grade pay or scale you got through ACP, MACP or NF upgrades is not counted.
• Type of work you need to show: Conceptual plans, engineering scale plans, yard plans, general arrangement drawings, traffic studies, port logistics, railway operations, SIP and DPR work. The circular also expects you to be an expert in handling train operation.
• Pay extras not offered: The circular rules out Performance Related Pay and TADK for this post.
• Contract tenure: You join on an annual contract, which IPRCL can extend depending on your performance and its own needs.
• Service rules: Your appointment follows the IPRCL Service and Conduct, Discipline and Appeal Rules, as amended from time to time.
• Wrong information: If any detail or certificate turns out to be false, your candidature is cancelled — even after you have joined.
• Changes to the circular: IPRCL may add, cut or cancel posts at any stage. Updates appear only on the IPRCL website, so check it regularly.
• Other notes: Requests to change your address or interview centre are not accepted, canvassing leads to disqualification, and any dispute falls under the courts in Mumbai only.
