OICL Actuarial Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Oriental Insurance Company Limited (OICL) is offering contractual Actuarial Apprentice training at its Corporate Office in Delhi for students pursuing actuarial studies. The notice makes the status of this engagement especially clear: you join as a trainee, and completing the apprenticeship does not create a right to a company job.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Training period: The apprenticeship runs for 11 months on a contractual basis. The notice sets a one-month notice period, so you should consider that condition before accepting the engagement.
• Trainee status: OICL says an apprentice is neither a worker nor an employee of the company. The engagement follows the apprenticeship terms stated in the notice.
• No automatic absorption: Completing the training gives you no right to absorption or further employment. It also does not create a claim for compensation or other benefits beyond those expressly covered by the engagement.
• Future recruitment: The apprenticeship does not promise extra weightage, preference or priority in a later OICL recruitment exercise. The company may change its recruitment policies or standards at its own discretion.
• Leave credit: You earn one day of leave for each month of training, credited at the beginning of the following month. Unused leave carries forward, and you need permission from the competent authority before taking it.
• Absence and holidays: Approved leave within your entitlement does not reduce the stipend. Other absence leads to a proportionate deduction, and no other type of leave is provided. You can observe the holidays followed by the company.
• Completion certificate: OICL awards an apprenticeship certificate when you complete the training with satisfactory performance. The certificate is subject to that performance condition.
• Company discretion: OICL can change the conditions, reject an application or cancel the exercise at any stage. Its decisions on candidature and recruitment are final under the notice.
