CPCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Overview

Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) has announced its Trade, Technician and Graduate Apprentice engagement for the skill-building programme under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The notice brings engineering, non-engineering, industrial trade and office-related streams into the same apprenticeship exercise. Posts and Disciplines

• Trade Apprentice, ITI: the industrial trades cover fitting, welding, electrical work, motor vehicles, machining, refrigeration and air conditioning, instrumentation, civil and mechanical draughtsmanship, and computer operation and programming.
• Laboratory Assistant: this designated trade is linked to chemical-plant laboratory work and uses the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).
• Guest House Service Assistant: this optional trade covers food and beverages for the canteen and housekeeping, through NAPS.
• Non-engineering Graduate Apprentice: this stream uses the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS), separate from the office-assistant route.
• Secretarial Office Assistant: the oil and gas office-support stream is registered through NAPS.
• Executive, Human Resource: this is an optional oil and gas apprenticeship trade under NAPS.
• Engineering Graduate Apprentice: the disciplines span chemical, mechanical, electrical and electronics, electronics and communication or instrumentation, civil, computer science, information technology, fire and safety, and environment protection and safety.
• Technician Apprentice: the engineering diploma stream covers chemical, mechanical, electrical and electronics, and electronics and communication or instrumentation.
• Data Entry Operator: NAPS carries separate routes for fresher apprentices and skilled certificate holders. Keep the distinction in mind when choosing the advertised opportunity.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of engagement: this notice concerns apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act. The different streams belong to the same CPCL engagement.
• NATS payment arrangement: the government pays part of the stipend through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Your bank account must be active, Aadhaar-seeded and enabled for DBT.
