Canara Bank Graduate Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Overview
Canara Bank is offering Graduate Apprentice training under the Apprentices Act for its financial-year intake. You will train at selected bank branches through a structured on-the-job programme. The engagement gives you branch-based training, but it does not make you a bank employee or guarantee a regular job.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Training period: The apprenticeship lasts 12 months. It ends when the contract period finishes, and the bank has no obligation to offer regular employment during or after training.
- State choice: You can apply for only one state and rank the districts within it. Your preference does not guarantee a particular district: the bank can assign any district in your chosen state according to available seats and its needs.
- Apprenticeship contract: If selected, you receive a digital contract through the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme portal. You must accept it within the allotted time, and portal approval is needed before engagement.
- Working hours: Your training follows the working hours of the clerical cadre. Overtime needs approval from the Apprenticeship Adviser and must serve a training or public-interest purpose.
- Leave: You earn one casual leave after each completed month, up to 12 in a year. You can take up to 4 together. Unused leave ends with the contract, and no other leave type applies.
- Holidays: You follow the holidays observed by the branch where you train.
- Conduct: Misconduct, disobedience or unsatisfactory performance can lead to termination. The notice also prohibits apprentices from forming or joining a union body.
- Contract ending: Failure to report when training begins can end the contract. For specified conduct or performance issues during training, the bank may terminate it after 7 days of notice.
- Certification: After completing the programme, apprentices receive NATS joint certification. Employee benefits and labour-law provisions for provident fund, employee insurance and bonus do not apply to this engagement.
- Waiting list: The state-category waiting list remains valid for one year from the result or until the next engagement exercise, whichever comes first. It is used only once against non-joining, subject to suitable candidates being available.
- Costs and updates: You bear your own selection-related travel and other expenses. Follow the bank website for further announcements, and keep your registered email active for communication.
Application Submission Notes
Before using the bank application link, register at https://nats.education.gov.in and complete your NATS profile fully. You need the enrolment ID generated there for the bank application.
Your state, district preferences and personal details become final after submission. Keep your application printout and payment receipt for reference, but do not post the printout to the bank or IBPS.

You can apply online from 01 October 2026 to 17 October 2026, both days included.
You need graduation completed between 01 January 2023 and 01 September 2026. Your Class 12/diploma score must be at least 60%, or 55% for SC/ST/PwBD, and you must meet the age, language and previous-training conditions.
Complete your NATS registration and profile, then use the apprenticeship application link under the bank recruitment notice. You need your NATS enrolment ID for the online form.
The monthly stipend is Rs. 16,650, including the government share. You do not receive additional allowances or employee benefits.
Your Class 12/diploma marks determine state-wise merit, with older applicants placed first when marks tie. Engagement also depends on document checks, the local-language test where applicable, and medical fitness.
