Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), through its Office of Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research (IC&SR), has released Advertisement No. ICSR/PR/Advt.127/2026 to fill 1 contractual post of Software Test Engineer / Automation Tester. IC&SR runs sponsored research and industrial consultancy projects, and this role supports the testing of web-based applications built across multiple technologies. This is purely a contract post and does not lead to any permanent or regular job at the Institute. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: B.E / B.Tech / MCA / M.Sc (Computer Science) or an equivalent postgraduate degree.
• Experience: 2 to 4 years of relevant software testing experience, with strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to work across multiple technologies.

Mandatory Skills

• Manual Testing (Functional, Regression, Integration)
• Automation Testing using Selenium / Playwright / Cypress
• Testing of web applications
• Basic SQL for data validation
• Bug tracking tools such as JIRA / Redmine

Technology Exposure and Preferred Skills

• Exposure to .NET MVC / C#, Angular (or other SPA frameworks), PHP, and Python-based applications / AI tools
• API Testing (Postman / REST APIs), CI/CD knowledge, and Agile / Scrum experience are preferred

Salary

• You will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 40,000 per month, decided based on your experience.
• The exact amount within this range is fixed at the time of appointment.

Selection Process
