GPSC Junior Staff Officer Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has released Advertisement No. 14/2026-27 for the post of Junior Staff Officer (Administration), Class-2 in the Home Department. The vacancy is reserved for the SEBC (Socially and Educationally Backward Class) category. Selection involves a Preliminary Test followed by an Interview, with no Main Exam.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must possess a Bachelor's degree from any recognised university (Central, State, or UGC-recognised institution).
• Experience: You need about 3 years' experience on a post not below the rank of Senior Clerk, Class III, in the subordinate services of the Home Guards Organisation; OR 3 years' experience in administrative work in Government/Local Bodies/Government undertaking/Board/Corporation/Limited Company/University/Registered NGO on an equivalent post.
• Computer Knowledge: You must have basic knowledge of computer application as per Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
• Language: You must have adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 21 years (on the last date of application)
• Maximum age: 38 years (on the last date of application)
• Age Relaxation:
• SC/ST/SEBC of Gujarat Origin: 5 years
• Women candidates (SC/ST/SEBC of Gujarat Origin): 10 years (max up to 45 years)
• Ex-Servicemen (including E.C.O./S.C.O.): Length of military service + 3 years
• Physically Disabled candidates: 10 years (max up to 45 years)

Salary

• Pay Scale: Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 per month (Pay Matrix Level-08, 7th CPC)
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Gujarat Government rules.

Application Fee

• General / Unreserved candidates: Rs. 100/- + applicable postal charges (post office) or Rs. 100/- + service charges (online)
• SC, ST, SEBC, EWS of Gujarat State, Ex-Servicemen, and Physically Disabled candidates: No fee
• Candidates of reserved categories from other states: must pay the full fee
• Payment mode: Online or via Post Office challan

Selection Process

Selection will be done in two stages:

1. Preliminary Test (Objective, OMR-based): Total 300 marks (300 questions) — Part-A: General Studies (100 questions, 100 marks) + Part-B: Concerned Subject (200 questions, 200 marks). Time duration 180 minutes (3 hours). Minimum 15% marks required to be considered for interview. Exam venue: Gandhinagar/Ahmedabad.
2. Interview: 100 marks. Candidates called at the ratio of 10 per 1 vacancy.

Final Merit: 50% weightage of Preliminary Test marks + 50% weightage of Interview marks.
