HPSC Food Safety Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview
Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) is recruiting Food Safety Officers for the Food & Drugs Administration Department, Haryana. These are regular Group B posts under the department's service rules. The notice links appointment with Food Authority training and includes a restriction on financial interests in the food business, making those conditions important when you consider this role.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Training after appointment: The department will provide the training specified by the Food Authority after appointment. You will be notified as a Food Safety Officer after completing that training successfully.
- Financial interests: You cannot be appointed if you have a financial interest in manufacturing, importing or selling food. Check this condition carefully if you are connected with a food business.
- Applicable rules: Recruitment follows the Food Safety Officer service rules in force when the advertisement was issued. HPSC does not accept an equivalence claim simply because a course seems similar to a listed qualification.
- Provisional consideration: An admit card does not establish that you meet every appointment condition. HPSC initially uses the information you enter, and your claims remain subject to scrutiny.
- Category declaration: Your application is considered under the category you select in the form. The notice does not allow a later category change, so check that entry before you finalise it.
- State reservation: Haryana's specified reservation benefits apply to Haryana residents or domicile holders. Reserved-category applicants from other states compete under General/Unreserved conditions.
- Backward Class reservation: Haryana applicants in the creamy layer cannot claim BC-A or BC-B reservation. A generic OBC claim does not replace the specific Haryana category requirements.
- Recruitment changes: The government may increase or reduce the number of posts. HPSC also retains discretion over the recruitment method and how it limits the number of candidates called onward.
- Online communications: Download your e-admit card from the commission website when available. HPSC will not send it separately by post; keep your registered email and mobile number active throughout recruitment.
- Corrections: Submitted entries cannot be edited. If you need to correct an error while applications remain open, the notice permits a fresh application; only the latest application number will be considered.
- Declarations: Disclose pending criminal cases, disciplinary matters and other proceedings requested in the form. False or incomplete information can lead to cancellation.
- Rechecking: HPSC rules out manual checking or rechecking of OMR sheets and re-evaluation of Subject Knowledge Test answers. Follow the instructions supplied for whichever test you attend.

परीक्षा पैटर्न
HPSC generally uses a Screening Test, Subject Knowledge Test and interview. The commission may omit screening and proceed directly to the Subject Knowledge Test and interview.
If screening uses OMR sheets, you must correctly fill and darken the identifying details. Manual checking or rechecking is not allowed; Subject Knowledge Test answers are not re-evaluated.
Detailed test specifications such as question count, marks, duration, subject allocation and negative marking are not established by the recruitment sections reviewed; use HPSC's test-specific instructions when issued.

- BC-A/BC-B NCL and EWS certificates valid for FY 2026-27 and issued by the closing date, as required in the reservation clauses; the upload checklist inconsistently refers to FY 2025-26 for BC certificates, so seek HPSC clarification if needed.
- DESM certificate for 2026-27 and in-service Army NOC, where applicable.
- Experience/service proof for claimed experience or service-based age relaxation; departmental NOC for Haryana government employees with a bond.
- Disability certificate for disabled Ex-servicemen, where applicable.
- Self-declaration of no disciplinary proceedings for Haryana government employees without a bond; NOC or accepted-resignation letter where applicable by interview.

You can apply from 28 September 2026. Applications and fee payments close on 19 October 2026 at 5:00 pm.
You need a recognised qualification in a listed food technology, science, agriculture or medical discipline, plus Hindi/Sanskrit at Matric or Hindi in higher education. The standard age range is 18 to 42 years on 19 October 2026.
Use the HPSC website route prescribed in the notice when applications open. Register, complete the form and payment, then upload your signed application; omitting that upload leads to rejection.
The stated starting basic pay is Rs. 35,400 per month at FPL-6, Cell 1. This is basic pay, rather than a take-home salary figure.
The fee is Rs. 1,000 for remaining applicants and Rs. 250 for the specified Haryana categories and women. Haryana PwBD applicants with at least 40% disability are exempt.
