UPSC Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is recruiting medical teachers, clinical specialists, an editorial team and legal officers through a shared advertisement. These are regular government posts across central departments, New Delhi Municipal Council, the Delhi government and the Ladakh administration. Post-wise Duties

Assistant Professors in Anatomy and General Medicine

You will combine medical teaching, research and patient care in your specialty. Teaching covers both classroom and practical learning for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.

Assistant Editor

You will turn technical material into clear publications and web content, working with authors to check accuracy. The work also includes newsletters, annual reports, media coordination and printing tenders.

Specialists in Anaesthesiology and Paediatrics

You will provide specialty patient care within the municipal health service. You will also carry out research and guide research work in your clinical field.

Assistant Public Prosecutor

You will represent the Delhi government in Metropolitan Magistrates' courts and advise police on criminal cases. The notice also includes law teaching and keeping records and statistics of pending criminal cases.

Public Law Officer/District Litigation Officer/Law Officer

You will give legal opinions, review draft rules and notifications, and prepare or check departmental replies. Your work can include promotion-committee participation, formal ministry correspondence and district litigation duties.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Posting liability: the medical teaching posts and Assistant Editor carry service liability anywhere in India. Delhi prosecution, municipal specialist and Ladakh legal posts belong to their respective administrations.
• Medical practice: private practice, including consultation and laboratory practice for the teaching specialists, is prohibited. The municipal specialists also cannot undertake private practice.
• Confirmation: the teaching and municipal specialist posts have a one-year probation. Assistant Editor and both legal streams have two-year probation periods; the legal streams also include mandatory induction training.
• Ladakh domicile: the Ladakh legal recruitment is restricted to the specified domicile categories. If you qualify for more than one reservation category, your reservation choice at application is final.
• Application finality: you cannot withdraw or change a submitted application. Updating your Universal Registration Number profile later does not change applications already submitted.
• Separate applications: your registration number stays the same across recruitments, while each vacancy-specific application receives its own application number.
