TMC Colo-Rectal Surgical Oncology Fellowship 2026: Overview

Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) is inviting applications for a one-year Fellowship in Surgical Oncology (Colo-Rectal) at the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Cancer Centre (HBCH/MPMMCC), Varanasi - a grant-in-aid institute under the Department of Atomic Energy. HBCH/MPMMCC Varanasi is one of TMC's growing regional cancer centres serving eastern Uttar Pradesh, so the selected fellow gets exposure to a high caseload of colo-rectal cancer surgeries alongside oncologists from multiple specialities. Doctors holding a postgraduate qualification in surgical oncology or general surgery, who want focused, hands-on training in colo-rectal cancer surgery at one of TMC's regional cancer centres, should apply.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The fellowship runs for one year from 1 October 2026 and is a tenured, non-permanent engagement.
• Registration: Selected fellows must be registered with the Uttar Pradesh Medical Council, and all UG/PG degrees must be recognised by the National Medical Commission.
• Accommodation: Shared hostel accommodation may be offered subject to availability, with hostel charges deducted monthly from the stipend.
• Security Deposit: A refundable caution deposit equal to one month's gross pay applies for the fellowship, varying by your qualification.
• NOC Requirement: Candidates already working in a government or related organisation must upload a No Objection Certificate from their employer and carry the original to the MCQ test or interview.
• Selection: An MCQ test is held only if the number of applicants exceeds three times the number of posts advertised; otherwise, candidates go straight to interview.
• Result-Awaited Candidates: You can apply even if your final results are awaited, but you must prove you hold the qualifying degree by the day of the MCQ/interview.
• Legal Jurisdiction: Any dispute concerning this engagement falls under the jurisdiction of Varanasi.
• Travel: No TA/DA is paid for appearing in the MCQ test or interview.
