Oil India Limited (OIL), a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking and India's second-largest upstream oil and gas company, has released Advertisement No. HRAQ/CONT-WP-B/26-289 dated 22 July 2026 for 9 Contractual Logging Assistant posts at its Field Headquarters in Duliajan, Assam. This is a purely contractual and temporary engagement that involves shift-based work in remote and hazardous OIL installations, including on-call duty. As a Logging Assistant, you will support well logging teams with tool handling, minor repairs, and equipment preparation at the workshop and well site. Only candidates with domicile of Assam or Arunachal Pradesh are eligible, so confirm your domicile status before you plan to travel for the walk-in.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have passed Class 10th from a Government-recognized education board.
• Trade Certificate: You need a National/Provisional Trade Certificate issued by NCVT or SCVT in Diesel Mechanic, Fitter, Electrician, Turner, Welder, Motor Mechanic, or Machinist trade.
• Experience: You need at least 6 months of post-qualification work experience as an assistant in drilling/workover activities or other oilfield-related services.
• Domicile: Only candidates domiciled in Assam or Arunachal Pradesh can apply.

Reservation (out of 9 posts): UR-5, SC-1, ST-1, OBC(NCL)-2. Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 40 years old (General category) as on the date of registration for the Walk-in Personal Assessment.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates can apply up to 45 years, and OBC (NCL) candidates up to 43 years.

Salary

• You will get a fixed emolument of Rs. 21,450 per month, based on your attendance, including paid leave and holidays.
• You will also get a variable emolument of Rs. 825 per day for each day you actually work.

Selection Process

OIL will select candidates through a Walk-in for Personal Assessment carrying 100 marks. You need to score at least 50 marks to qualify, whatever your category.

1. Document Verification: Your information is checked against your original documents at the time of registration.
2. Walk-in Personal Assessment: You are evaluated on professional knowledge and skills in your trade, related allied-discipline knowledge, and personal attributes and soft skills.
3. Final Merit List: Selection is purely merit-based, using the marks you score in the assessment, among candidates who clear the qualifying mark of 50.

The Personal Assessment proceeds in the order candidates register, and if the number of candidates registering on 10 August 2026 exceeds the venue's capacity, OIL will carry the assessment forward to the following day(s) for the remaining registered candidates. The initial contract runs for 6 months, extendable for three further tenures of 6 months each, for a maximum of 24 months, depending on your performance and OIL's requirement. The contract can be ended by either side with 15 days' notice, and it does not create any right to regular employment or absorption in Oil India Limited.

How to Apply

1. Check that you meet all the eligibility conditions before you travel for the walk-in.
2. Download and fill the Personal Bio-Data Form given in the advertisement.
3. Arrange your original documents plus one set of self-attested photocopies — bio-data form, passport-size photo, photo ID and address proof, Class 10th certificate as DOB proof, trade certificate, and experience certificate(s).
4. Report to Duliajan Club, Oil India Limited, Duliajan, Assam on 10 August 2026 between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM for registration.
5. Appear for the Walk-in Personal Assessment on the same day — late registration is not allowed under any circumstances, and you will not be allowed to appear without your original documents.

No Travelling Allowance or Daily Allowance will be paid for attending the assessment, so plan your own travel and stay in advance.
