NTPC Engineering Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026
National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) is one of India's largest power companies. It works under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. NTPC has invited online applications for 515 Engineering Executive Trainee (EET) posts. Selection will be based on your GATE-2025 score. There is no separate NTPC exam.
Who Can Apply?
- You need a full-time B.E. or B.Tech degree in a relevant engineering branch.
- You must have at least 65% marks in your degree (55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).
- You must have a valid GATE-2025 score in the relevant paper (EE, ME, EC, IN, or CS).
- Your age should be 27 years or below as on 25 February 2026.
- Age relaxation: SC/ST get 5 years, OBC get 3 years, PwBD get 10 years.
How Many Posts Are Available?
Total vacancies: 515 posts
- Electrical Engineering: 165 posts
- Mechanical Engineering: 210 posts
- Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering: 125 posts
- Computer Science/IT: 15 posts
Salary and Benefits
Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 40,000 - 1,40,000 per month in E1 Grade under the IDA pay pattern. The total CTC (cost to company) is around Rs. 13-14 lakh per year.

Responsibilities
- Work as an Engineering Executive Trainee at NTPC power plants and projects across India
- Learn and handle operations related to power generation in your engineering branch
- Help with planning, running, and maintaining power plant equipment and systems
- Follow safety rules and guidelines at the power plant
- Work with senior engineers on project planning and execution
- Keep proper records and reports of daily work and operations
- Complete the training period and meet all performance targets set by NTPC
