NHSRC Senior Consultant ED Secretariat Recruitment 2026: Overview
National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), an autonomous society under the National Health Mission, is recruiting a Senior Consultant for the Executive Director Secretariat. The Secretariat is NHSRC's coordinating hub for technical inputs sent to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and it responds to changing priorities from the Executive Director and the ministry. You will help connect field evidence, health-system research and policy communication at national level. This is a senior public-health advisory assignment for someone who can turn complex programme information into clear, timely material for decision-makers.
The work combines writing and coordination with practical exposure to health services. You may prepare policy briefs, technical reports, presentations and concept notes; examine research papers and project submissions; and support responses for ministry or parliamentary matters. Field visits can help you understand implementation barriers before you give analytical feedback to state teams. You will also coordinate across NHSRC divisions and MoHFW, so the role suits someone who can lead discussions, protect quality under short timelines and keep several assignments moving. Your value will come from joining evidence, operational experience and clear communication rather than treating each document as a stand-alone task.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Contract: This is a fixed-term consultancy that reports to the Executive Director. NHSRC may extend the engagement for a similar period when your performance is satisfactory.
- Work base and travel: New Delhi is the main workplace, with possible visits to states and districts for monitoring, supervision and exercises such as the Common Review Mission.
- Senior contribution: You are expected to bring leadership, team-building and independent judgement while coordinating with technical divisions and government counterparts.
- Field documentation: Visits are not observation alone; you will turn findings into useful records and constructive feedback that state teams can act on.
- Qualification flexibility: NHSRC may relax the formal education or experience requirement for exceptional published work or experience that is specifically relevant to the assignment.
- Similar roles: A person selected through this process may also be considered for another NHSRC vacancy needing comparable skills at an appropriate level.
- Benefits policy: NHSRC's notified consultant benefits apply to the engagement, subject to its insurance, leave, reimbursement and travel rules.
