NHSRC Advisor Public Health Administration Recruitment 2026: Overview
National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), an autonomous technical-support society under the National Health Mission, is looking for a full-time Advisor for its Public Health Administration Division. NHSRC works with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, states and Union Territories on health-system design, implementation support, capacity building and programme review. This is a senior role for someone who can connect policy decisions in New Delhi with the practical realities of health services at state, district and sub-district levels.
The Public Health Administration Division covers a broad national portfolio. Its work includes secondary and tertiary care, Indian Public Health Standards, urban health, public-health management cadres and health infrastructure. The team also supports Mobile Medical Units, ambulance networks, civil registration, death-review systems, grievance mechanisms, health helplines and the legal framework for health. You will report to the Executive Director and guide the division's work across these connected themes.
A major part of the position is turning field evidence into practical guidance. You will review state programme proposals, help shape national guidelines and support states as they adapt those guidelines locally. Team leadership and clear communication are especially important because the role brings together NHSRC specialists, the North Eastern Regional Resource Centre, ministry divisions and state health teams. The assignment suits a senior public-health professional who is comfortable moving between policy review, implementation support, mentoring and national-level coordination.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Contract: The initial full-time engagement runs until 31 March 2028. Any continuation depends on satisfactory performance and extension of the National Health Mission.
- Reporting: The Advisor reports directly to the Executive Director, NHSRC, and leads the Public Health Administration Division's specified work.
- Work location and travel: The base is New Delhi, with travel to states and districts as the assignment requires.
- Course mode: Only qualifications completed through regular courses are considered for this position.
- Deputation: Government officers may apply on deputation if they meet the same terms and provide a No Objection Certificate from their controlling department.
- Language: Strong spoken and written English is needed, while working knowledge of Hindi is desirable.
- Benefits: The package includes a dedicated sedan, insurance support, reimbursements, consolidated leave, applicable maternity leave, annual increments and official-tour support under NHSRC policy.
- Nature of work: The division's themes overlap with other technical teams, so the selected professional must be ready to take up connected assignments from the Executive Director or Executive Committee.
