Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), a Government of India undertaking under the Ministry of Railways, needs Office Boy, Helper and Khalasi staff for its Mechanical / Project Department. The role is based at the Rolling Stock Component Factory in Lote and combines workshop assistance, material movement, housekeeping and basic office support. The job is more physical and workshop-focused than the title “Office Boy” may suggest. You may work around rolling-stock parts, tools and maintenance teams, so physical fitness and prior practical experience are important. Experience in a repair workshop or manufacturing unit receives preference because it closely matches the factory setting.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: the first contract is for one year and may be extended, based on performance and KRCL's requirement, up to the limit stated in the notice.
• Posting and transfer: the present headquarters is the Rolling Stock Component Factory at Lote, but KRCL may post or transfer a contract employee to another establishment when work requires it.
• Regular service: the engagement does not give you a right to permanent absorption in KRCL, and a written undertaking is required.
• Service bond: selected candidates must execute the prescribed agreement and indemnity bond before joining.
• Work schedule: normal local working hours apply, though emergencies may need extra hours without separate overtime payment.
• Leave: earned and casual leave are available under the contract rules; leave needs prior approval and cannot be encashed.
• Accommodation: KRCL will not provide housing, food or a mess payment for this engagement.
• Medical fitness: final engagement depends on passing KRCL's prescribed medical examination for the assigned work.
• Interview travel: KRCL will not pay travel or daily allowance, and you should be ready to stay locally if the process continues to another day.

Factory work can change with project needs, and the notified requirement may be adjusted by KRCL. The corporation may also use an elimination exercise when attendance is high, before the interview committee prepares the merit list.
