The Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Division Keylong, District Lahaul & Spiti, Himachal Pradesh, has invited applications for Para Pump Operator, Para Fitter and Multi Purpose Worker posts under the Jal Shakti Vibhag. These posts are needed to keep local water supply pumps, pipelines and related equipment running in the Keylong area, and are sanctioned by the Engineer-in-Chief, Jal Shakti Vibhag, Shimla, and conveyed through the Superintending Engineer, Jal Shakti Circle, Kullu. These are part-time engagements of 6 working hours per day, not regular pensionable government posts. Bonafide Himachali candidates with the required trade or educational qualification can apply on the prescribed proforma. No TA/DA is payable for appearing in the skill or physical test, and the notice has also been circulated to Panchayats in the area for wider local reach.

Who Can Apply?

Para Fitter

• You need Matriculation (10th pass) with an ITI certificate in the trade of Fitter/Plumber from a recognized ITI, or Matriculation with a certificate in these trades under the Government's Skill Development Scheme.

Para Pump Operator

• You need Matriculation (10th pass) with an ITI certificate in Electrician/Wireman/Diesel Mechanic/Pump Mechanic/Motor Mechanic/Pump Operator cum Mechanic trade, or Matriculation with a certificate in these trades under the Skill Development Scheme.

Multi Purpose Worker

• You need to have passed Class 8 (Middle Standard) or an equivalent qualification recognized by the State or Central Government.
• You must attach a detailed marksheet of your Middle standard exam — shortlisting is based on these marks, not on any higher qualification you may hold. If your Education Board hasn't issued a detailed marksheet, get a marks certificate from your school Principal instead.

Domicile: A Bonafide Himachali Certificate is compulsory for all three posts. You should also mention your phone number (if you have one) on the application form so the department can reach you.

Salary

• Selected candidates get a consolidated honorarium of Rs. 7,100 per month for Para Fitter and Para Pump Operator posts, for a part-time engagement of 6 working hours per day.

Selection Process

Selection for Para Pump Operator and Para Fitter follows a defined marks distribution criteria set out in the official notification, which weighs your qualification and skill certificate. For Multi Purpose Worker, shortlisting is based purely on the marks you scored in your Middle standard (Class 8) exam — marks from any higher qualification are not counted.

1. Document Scrutiny: Your application and certificates are checked against the eligibility criteria.
2. Skill/Physical Test: Shortlisted candidates may be called for a skill or physical test (no TA/DA is paid for this).
3. Merit List: Final selection is based on marks obtained in your qualifying exam/certificate.
