The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar) has released a notification (Advt. No. SPON/10091/Advt0240) for a temporary Junior Research Fellow position. The JRF will work under Prof. Sivapriya Kirubakaran on the project "Bioproduct Based Antimicrobial Substances to Combat ESKAPE Pathogens in Earth and Space Environments: Klebsiella pneumoniae as a model." This is a great chance for M.Sc. graduates who want hands-on research experience in microbiology and biochemistry at a top national institute.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need an M.Sc. in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or an allied discipline with First Class (minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA).
• National Exam: You must have qualified in CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or an equivalent national-level examination.
• Skills Needed: Strong skills in microbiology and biochemistry are required.
• Added Advantage: Previous experience in molecular biology and cell biology will be treated as a plus point.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 48,100 per month, which already includes House Rent Allowance.
• HRA: 30% of the fellowship (about Rs. 11,100 per month) is part of the consolidated amount.
• The appointment is for 1 year and can be extended based on your performance.

There is no written exam for this JRF post. Selection is done as follows:
