GPSC Manager Grade-I Class-2 Recruitment 2026 (PwD)

Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) is hiring for 1 post of Manager Grade-I, Class-2 in the Road and Building Department, Gujarat. This is a Special Recruitment Drive for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) reserved for Low Vision candidates. If you have a Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering, you can apply online. GPSC Manager Grade-I Class-2 Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has released Advt. No. 12/2026-27 for the post of Manager Grade-I, General State Service, Class-II under the Road and Building Department, Government of Gujarat. This is the third attempt Special Recruitment Drive reserved exclusively for Divyang (PwD) candidates with Low Vision (40-70%). The Manager position oversees hotel management and catering operations within the department's hospitality facilities.

Who Can Apply?

This recruitment is open only to Persons with Disabilities in the Low Vision category. You must meet the following qualification and experience requirements:

Educational Qualification

• Degree in Hotel Management and Catering from National Council of Hotel Management OR any recognised university (UGC Act 1956); OR
• Diploma in Hotel Management and/or Catering Technology from a recognised institute/university.

Experience

• About 2 years experience on the post not below the rank of Manager Grade-II, Class-III in the subordinate service of the Roads and Buildings Department; OR
• About 2 years experience in Hotel Management or catering in Government / Local Bodies / PSU / Board / Corporation / Company / private or public sector hotels of 2-star rating or higher, on a post equivalent to Manager Grade-II in the Roads and Buildings Department.

Other Requirements

• Basic knowledge of computer application as per Gujarat Civil Services Rules, 1967.
• Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
• You must be a citizen of India.
• Only candidates with Low Vision (40-70%) disability are eligible for this post.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years as on the last date of application (19 May 2026).
• Age relaxation for PwD candidates: 10 years (maximum up to 45 years).
• Ex-Servicemen: 5 years relaxation.
• Gujarat Government employees: If experience is prescribed as a qualification, upper age limit does not apply.
• Minimum age: 20 years.

Salary

• Pay Matrix: Rs. 44,900 - Rs. 1,42,400 (Level-8) under the 7th Pay Commission.
• Grade Pay: Rs. 4,600 (old scale: Rs. 9,300 - 34,800).
• Plus Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance and other allowances as per Gujarat Government rules.
• This is a Class-2 Gazetted Officer post with stable government service benefits.

Application Fee

• Persons with Disability: No application fee.
• Subject to registration, candidates have to fill a Consent Form and pay a refundable deposit to appear in the Preliminary Test.
• Deposit for Unreserved category: Rs. 500
• Deposit for Women / SEBC / SC / ST / EWS / PwD / Ex-Servicemen: Rs. 400
• The deposit is refunded to candidates who appear in the exam after paying the fee with the consent form.

Selection Process

The selection is a two-stage Direct Selection process:

1. Preliminary Examination (300 marks, 180 minutes): Part-A General Studies — 100 questions for 100 marks (60 minutes). Part-B Concerned Subject (Hotel Management) — 200 questions for 200 marks (120 minutes). The exam is objective (MCQ) based.
2. Interview (100 marks): Candidates who clear the prelim will be called for interview.

Final merit: 50% weightage of Preliminary Marks + 50% weightage of Interview Marks. To qualify for interview, you must score at least 10% of total marks in the Preliminary Test (special relaxation for PwD candidates).

How to Apply

1. Go to the GPSC online application portal at gpsc-ojas.gujarat.gov.in.
2. Complete the One Time Registration (OTR), if not done already.
3. Fill in the online application form for Advt. No. 12/2026-27.
4. Upload your photograph, signature and required documents.
5. Pay the Consent Form deposit (refundable) when called for the exam.
6. Submit the form and take a printout for your records.
7. Online application window: 05 May 2026 (13:00 hrs) to 19 May 2026 (23:59 hrs).

• Maintain stock registers, procurement records and vendor coordination
• Train subordinate staff in catering and hospitality protocols
• Prepare reports and submit them to senior officers
