GPSC General Manager Class-1 (GMB) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) has released Advertisement No. 15/2026-27 for the post of General Manager, Class-1 in the Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) service. This is a Special Recruitment Drive exclusively for Persons with Benchmark Disability (Divyang) — only candidates with the specific disabilities listed in the Divyang Resolution dated 24-09-2025 are eligible to apply. Selection is through a Preliminary Test and Interview.

Who Can Apply?

• Disability Requirement: Only candidates with the disabilities listed in the Ports and Transport Department Divyang Resolution dated 24-09-2025 (and as updated 27-01-2026) are eligible. Other disabilities are not eligible.
• Qualification: You must have:

1. A Bachelor's degree from any recognised university (Central, State, or UGC-recognised institution), AND
2. A Post Graduate Diploma or Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) in any discipline, full-time course, from a recognised university or institution.

• Experience: You need at least 10 years of experience in Government, local bodies, Government undertaking, Board, Corporation (established by an Act/Rules), or a Limited Company (established under the Companies Act, 2013), on a post equivalent to or above the rank of Manager in the Gujarat Maritime Board — experience must be acquired after obtaining the educational qualifications.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 21 years (on the last date of application)
• Maximum age: 47 years (on the last date of application)
• Age Relaxation:
• Women candidates (Un-reserved): 5 years
• Ex-Servicemen (including ECO/SCO): 5 years
• Persons with Disability: up to 10 years

Salary

• Pay Scale: Rs. 78,800 to Rs. 2,09,200 per month (Pay Matrix Level-12 in the GMB service)
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Gujarat Maritime Board rules.
• Note: Selected candidates will be considered employees of the Gujarat Maritime Board (not the Government of Gujarat).

Selection Process

Selection will be done in two stages:

1. Preliminary Test (Objective, OMR-based): Total 300 marks (300 questions) — Part-A: General Studies (100 questions, 100 marks) + Part-B: Concerned Subject (200 questions, 200 marks). Time duration 180 minutes (3 hours). Minimum 15% marks required to be considered for interview. Exam venue: Gandhinagar/Ahmedabad.
2. Interview: 100 marks. Candidates called at the ratio of 10 per 1 vacancy.

Final Merit: 50% weightage of Preliminary Test marks + 50% weightage of Interview marks.
