GAIL Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026 – Overview

GAIL (India) Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, has invited applications for 70 Executive Trainee (ET) posts in the E2 Grade. Selection is based on GATE-2026 scores. This is a great opportunity for fresh engineering graduates looking to build a career in India's leading natural gas company.

Who Can Apply

• Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in the relevant discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation) from a recognized university or institution
• Minimum Marks: At least 65% aggregate marks. SC, ST, and PwBD candidates need at least 60%
• Pass Year: Only candidates who passed in 2025 or are in the final year of their 2025–26 batch are eligible
• GATE Score: A valid GATE-2026 score in the relevant paper is mandatory
• Nationality: Indian nationals only
• Experience: No prior experience needed. Freshers can apply

Age Limit (as on 18 March 2026)

• Maximum Age: 26 years
• SC / ST candidates: +5 years relaxation (up to 31 years)
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: +3 years relaxation (up to 29 years)
• PwBD candidates: +10 years relaxation (up to 36 years)

Total Vacancies – 70 Posts

Note: 9 posts are reserved for PwBD candidates across disciplines.

Salary

Selected candidates will get a pay scale of Rs. 60,000 – 1,80,000 per month under the E2 Grade IDA (Industrial Dearness Allowance) Pay Scale. Additional allowances as per GAIL rules will also apply.

Selection Process

1. GATE-2026 Score Shortlisting – Candidates are shortlisted based on their GATE-2026 score in the relevant discipline
2. Group Discussion (GD) / Interview – Shortlisted candidates are called for GD and Interview
3. Document Verification – Original documents are checked
4. Medical Examination – Final medical fitness test

Selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India as per GAIL's operational requirements.
