Directorate of Secondary Health, Andhra Pradesh (DSH AP) is recruiting Civil Assistant Surgeon Specialists and Civil Assistant Surgeons (General) for secondary-health hospitals in the erstwhile Kurnool district. The Health, Medical and Family Welfare Department is using a walk-in recruitment to place doctors where hospital services need them. Both local and non-local applicants may take part, subject to the state rules described in the notification.

This drive combines specialist care and general medical service in one notice. Specialist applicants choose the discipline that matches their postgraduate training, while general-duty doctors support the broader clinical needs of the hospitals. • Gynaecology: specialist work connected with women's health, maternity care and obstetric services.

Post-wise Duties

Civil Assistant Surgeon Specialist

You will provide specialty care in your registered discipline, manage referred cases and work with the hospital's medical and nursing teams. Your daily work may include outpatient consultations, inpatient rounds, emergency calls, procedures and clinical documentation appropriate to the specialty.

Civil Assistant Surgeon General

You will handle general medical assessment and treatment, stabilize urgent cases and refer patients who need specialist or higher-centre care. You may be assigned across services according to the institution's operational needs.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The appointment is contractual for one year or until the post is filled regularly, whichever happens first.
• Posting: Selected doctors may be placed in any medical institution according to departmental need and must stay at the bonafide headquarters.
• Merit-list life: The list prepared under this notice remains valid for one year from the notification date.
• Vacancy position: The notified requirement is tentative and may decrease before final appointment.
• Course restriction: Doctors currently pursuing a PG or super-specialty course should not apply; selected doctors will not be permitted to continue that course.
• Local status: Study certificates determine local candidature where applicable. Residence certificates are not accepted in place of study records for applicants who attended educational institutions through SSC.
• Legal caveat: The recruitment remains subject to pending or future court proceedings, and the District Selection Committee may alter or cancel conditions.

Attend the walk-in in person at the Office of the District Coordinator of Hospital Services, Government Quarter No. C/D-7, C. Camp, Kurnool 518002. Applications are accepted at the venue between 10:30 AM and 3:00 PM; reach early enough for form and original-certificate checking.

Bring the signed prescribed form, the supporting copies listed in the notice and all original certificates. If you claim government contract or COVID-19 service weightage, use the prescribed certificate signed by the competent authority and carry the related supporting records. Incomplete applications or applications without the needed certificates can be rejected at the venue.
