CURAJ Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026: Overview

Central University of Rajasthan (CURAJ) is hiring a Junior Research Fellow for the Department of Chemistry under the ANRF-PAIR project titled Dynamic Research Ecosystem for Advanced Materials (DREAMs). The work sits inside a broad advanced-materials programme with IIT Ropar as the hub, bringing together bioenergy, biosensors, electronics, biorefinery, biotechnology, nanotechnology, sustainable chemistry and computational chemistry.

The selected researcher will join IRG-3 Component APCURAJ 6, led at CURAJ by Dr. Rajagopala Reddy Seelam. This component is especially relevant if you want hands-on research exposure in theoretical or computational chemistry, theoretical molecular spectroscopy, excited-state modelling or ultrafast quantum nuclear dynamics. The university also expects the fellow to work across disciplines rather than remain limited to a single narrow laboratory problem.

This is a time-bound research engagement, not a regular university appointment. It is designed for an early-career chemistry researcher who wants to build a publication-oriented profile while working in a multi-institution project. The notice also says the selected fellow will be strongly encouraged to enrol in the CURAJ PhD programme, so the role may suit you if doctoral research is part of your longer plan.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: The appointment begins for one year and may continue for up to 4.5 years based on your performance, eligibility and the availability of project funds.
• Progression: The JRF may move to an SRF role after meeting the project rules and performance conditions.
• Funding condition: Continuation depends on ANRF funding being released and available. The project itself has a five-year tenure, but that does not guarantee an individual appointment for its full duration.
• Interview travel: The university will not pay TA or DA for attending the interview.
• Academic route: PhD enrolment is encouraged, but you must separately meet the university's admission requirements.
