CUPB Lab Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview
Central University of Punjab (CUPB) is engaging Senior Analyst, Laboratory Assistant and Laboratory Attendant staff for its Ghudda campus near Bathinda. These are temporary contractual roles supporting the Central Instrumental Laboratory and departments working in food testing, biotechnology, bioinformatics, community medicine, pharmaceutical sciences and computer science. The recruitment combines scientific-laboratory work with technical support, giving you several role choices within one university notice.
The posts are not interchangeable. The Senior Analyst role centres on food and water testing and laboratory quality systems, while the assistant and attendant roles support instruments, experiments, computing facilities and daily lab readiness. You must apply separately for every post you want to be considered for, even when the same recruitment portal is used.
Posts and Disciplines
- Senior Analyst, Food Testing Laboratory: a quality-focused analytical role under the Central Instrumental Laboratory, with emphasis on food or water testing and NABL-style laboratory practice.
- Laboratory Assistant, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics: supports sophisticated scientific instruments used in life-science and computational biology work.
- Laboratory Assistant, Community Medicine and Health: handles laboratory equipment and practical support for health and biological-science teaching or research.
- Laboratory Attendant, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Natural Products: keeps the self-financed course laboratory prepared, clean and supplied for practical sessions.
- Laboratory Assistant, Computer Science and Technology: supports programming, hardware, networking and Internet of Things facilities.
- Laboratory Attendant, Computer Science and Technology: provides routine laboratory assistance for the department's self-financed courses.
Post-wise Duties
Senior Analyst
You will support food and water testing, help keep analytical methods controlled and contribute to a quality system covering validation, measurement uncertainty, internal audits, proficiency testing and documentation.
Laboratory Assistant
You will operate and care for sophisticated scientific or computing instruments, prepare facilities for users, troubleshoot routine issues and keep usage or maintenance records. The exact equipment depends on whether you join biotechnology, community medicine or computer science.
Laboratory Attendant
You will prepare work areas and materials, help users during practical sessions, keep laboratory spaces and basic equipment orderly, and report shortages or faults to the responsible technical staff.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Contract period: The Senior Analyst engagement is for one year, while the other roles are for 89 days. These are purely temporary contractual appointments.
- Separate applications: If more than one role fits you, each one needs its own application and applicable fee.
- Reservation documents: OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must meet the current Government of India format and issue-period requirements. Missing proof can lead to rejection.
- Unreserved posts: A reserved-category applicant choosing an unreserved post does not receive category-based relaxation for that application.
- Interview communication: The university will not issue separate call letters. You are responsible for checking the CUPB website and attending the scheduled walk-in after completing the online form.
- Shortlisting: If turnout is high, the university may shortlist applicants before the interview. Eligibility is checked at the venue against original records.
Application Submission Notes
Complete the form through the CUPB non-teaching recruitment portal for the post you want. After online submission, download and print the application because the printed form must be carried to the interview at Central University of Punjab, Badal-Bathinda Road, VPO Ghudda, District Bathinda.
Bring the original education, experience, category and identity records with one self-attested photocopy set. No-objection proof is needed from your present employer when applicable, and the university also asks for recent photographs. Check the university website regularly because amendments and updates are posted there rather than sent individually.
