About This Job
ANIIMS has extended the deadline for Faculty Posts (Group A) including Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor positions. New last date to apply is 30 March 2026.
Earn up to Rs. 2,75,000 per month as a Professor at Andaman and Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS). This is a rare chance to join a 545-bedded NMC-recognized teaching hospital in Sri Vijaya Puram -- the only referral hospital for the entire Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Selection Process
Selection is purely through an online interview -- there is no written exam. ANIIMS will email interview details to shortlisted candidates. Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate medical students in the assigned department
- Conduct clinical rounds, outpatient clinics, and patient care duties at Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital
- Carry out research and publish in NMC-approved indexed journals
- Supervise and mentor junior residents and interns
- Participate in academic activities including CMEs, conferences, and workshops
- Handle administrative duties assigned by the Director, ANIIMS
- Maintain medical records and follow hospital protocols
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
MBBS + MD/MS/DNB in relevant specialty as per NMC Medical Institutions (Qualifications of Faculty) Regulations, 2025. For basic science subjects (Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology), M.Sc + PhD candidates are also eligible.
Preferred Qualification
DM/M.Ch/DrNB for super-specialty subjects. Basic Course in Biomedical Research (BCBR) and Basic Course in Medical Education (BCME) completion preferred.
Required Skills
NMC/MCI registration with Medical Council of India or State Medical Council. Research publications in NMC-approved indexed journals required for Professor and Associate Professor posts.

Assistant Professor: Minimum 1 year senior residency (or 2 years in 220+ bedded government hospital post-PG). Associate Professor: Minimum 4 years as Assistant Professor + 2 research publications (or 10 years in 220+ bedded government hospital post-PG). Professor: Minimum 3 years as Associate Professor + 2 research publications (or 10+ years teaching post-PG experience). Experience counted after obtaining prescribed qualification until last date of application.

Allowances
Academic/Special Duty Allowance: Rs. 20,000-30,000/month depending on post. HRA: Rs. 16,000-20,000/month depending on post. 3% annual increment on consolidated pay. Total monthly package ranges from Rs. 2,41,000 (Assistant Professor) to Rs. 3,25,000 (Professor). Deputation candidates get usual Central Government allowances for Sri Vijaya Puram posting.
