Arunachal DHS Medical Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Directorate of Health Services (DHS), Government of Arunachal Pradesh is hiring Medical Officers for the state's Mental Health Programme. The doctors will be engaged under the Mukhiya Mantri Manasik Swasthya Yojana Society, and the notice was issued by the Mental Health Branch of the Directorate at Naharlagun. This is a purely contractual walk-in engagement, not a regular government appointment. If you hold an MBBS degree and have an interest in psychiatry or mental health work, this drive is a good way to get hands-on experience in a specialised public health service.

Posts and Disciplines

All posts are for the same role of Medical Officer, but the place of work differs. Selected doctors will be posted to one of these locations:

• Mental Hospital, Midpu: the dedicated mental health hospital, which is also the interview venue.
• District Hospital, Seppa: mental health services at the district hospital level.
• District Hospital, Daporijo: mental health services at the district hospital level.
• District Hospital, Pasighat: mental health services at the district hospital level.

The notification does not say how the five posts are split between these places, so be ready to accept a posting at any of the four locations.

Doctors who have worked or trained in psychiatry or at a mental health institute for at least six months get preference, so mention such experience clearly in your CV.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of engagement: The engagement is purely contractual and gives no right to a regular government appointment.
• Tenure: The contract runs for one year and can be extended based on your performance, programme needs, availability of funds and approval of the competent authority.
• Fixed pay: No additional allowances are paid unless specifically approved.
• Registration: You must keep a valid medical registration throughout the engagement.
• Termination: The engagement can be ended in line with the contract terms.
• Travel: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview — plan your own travel and stay.
• Canvassing: Any form of canvassing leads to disqualification, and the Selection Committee's decision is final.
• Cancellation: The competent authority can cancel the recruitment process without giving any reason.

On the interview day, report by 9:00 a.m. — late comers may not be allowed to attend. Carry all original documents along with one set of self-attested photocopies.

• Identify and manage common mental health conditions under the Mental Health Programme
