AIIMS Kalyani Senior Resident Recruitment 2026: Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Kalyani is filling Senior Resident (Non-Academic) positions across clinical, surgical, diagnostic and pre-clinical departments at its West Bengal campus. AIIMS Kalyani is an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and was established through the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana. This is a tenure engagement under the Central Residency Scheme, not a permanent faculty appointment.

The recruitment spans major patient-care departments and smaller super-speciality units. You can choose more than one listed department, but the notice treats each choice as a separate application. The interview is available in online and offline modes, which makes the process accessible beyond West Bengal while the actual appointment remains based at AIIMS Kalyani.

Post-wise Duties

Clinical and Medical Specialties

You will assess patients, plan treatment with the supervising faculty and maintain clear clinical records. The exact case mix will follow your allotted department and its duty roster.

Surgical and Critical-care Specialties

You will support ward, emergency, procedure and peri-operative work while following departmental safety protocols. Shift and on-call duties may form part of the residency roster.

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services

You will help deliver and interpret department-specific investigations or treatment, keep accurate procedure documentation, and coordinate findings with the treating team.

Hospital Administration

You will support service coordination, patient-flow review and hospital systems under faculty supervision. Your work will connect clinical departments with administrative processes.

Pre-clinical and Medico-legal Departments

You will contribute to departmental teaching, practical work, records and specialist services while meeting institutional and legal standards relevant to the discipline.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The contract can run only for the maximum period allowed under the Central Residency Scheme; it does not become a regular appointment.
• Reservation: The department and category distribution may change under Government of India rules and institute requirements.
• Category proof: Reserved-category consideration depends on a valid certificate in the prescribed format from the competent authority.
• OBC status: The community must appear in the Central List, and the applicant must meet the non-creamy-layer condition.
• PwD reservation: Horizontal reservation applies to the notified orthopaedic-disability category, subject to the stated functional requirements and proper certification.
• Interview expenses: AIIMS Kalyani will not pay TA, DA or accommodation for attending the interview.
• Waiting list: A post left vacant after non-joining or resignation may be offered in merit order from the waiting list.

Application Submission Notes

The online Google Form is compulsory, and the institute will not accept a hard-copy application as a substitute. Before opening the form, keep scanned certificates and the payment receipt in PDF format, plus your photograph and signature as image files.

Your choice between online and offline interview becomes final once the form is submitted. AIIMS Kalyani will share the online joining link only with applicants found eligible; offline candidates should report to the Academic Section in Academic Block 1 on the campus.

If you choose multiple departments, complete a separate application and fee payment for each choice. Keep the corresponding application and self-attested supporting records ready for verification during the interview process.
