AIIMS Kalyani Project Laboratory Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Kalyani has released a notification for 1 Project Laboratory Assistant post under an ANRF-funded research project titled "Fabrication of AI-enabled MXenes nano-structure based electrochemical immuno-sensor for detection of cervical cancer biomarker," led by Dr. Kushal Gupta, Associate Professor, Department of Medical Oncology & Haematology. The post is purely contractual — initially for 9 months in the first year, and then 12 months each in the second and third year, extendable up to a maximum of 33 months depending on your performance and project funding. This is a good opportunity for MLT diploma or degree holders who want hands-on experience in a government-funded research project.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: Class 12 (10+2) with B.MLT (Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology) or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, with First Division marks, from a body recognized by the State/Central Government.
  • Desirable: Relevant work experience in a similar laboratory or project role — candidates with prior similar-project experience will be preferred.
  • Skills: Good communication skills in Bengali and Hindi, empathy while dealing with patients, and the ability to work as part of a team.

Salary

  • You will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 27,000 per month plus 30% HRA (Rs. 8,100 per month), totalling Rs. 35,100 per month.
  • No other allowances or facilities are provided besides this consolidated salary — the institute also does not provide hostel or other accommodation.

Selection Process

AIIMS Kalyani will select candidates in these stages:

  1. Screening: Your application will be screened against the eligibility criteria.
  2. Written Test and/or Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test and/or interview at AIIMS Kalyani. No TA/DA will be paid for attending, and the test/interview will be held offline only, at the AIIMS Kalyani campus.
  3. Document Verification: You must bring two hard copies of your application form along with original documents and a valid photo ID (Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, or PAN Card).

The shortlist and the test/interview schedule will be published on the AIIMS Kalyani website, and the final result will also be e-mailed to the selected candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Collect blood samples from patients following standard laboratory protocol
  • Handle procedure counselling and obtain patient consent before sample collection
  • Process and store samples for the cervical cancer biomarker research project
  • Maintain accurate records of samples and lab results
  • Assist the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator with day-to-day lab work
  • Follow safety protocols while handling biological samples
  • Coordinate with patients and hospital staff with empathy and good communication
