AIIMS Kalyani Field Data Collector Recruitment 2026: Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Kalyani is engaging an NMHS 2 Survey Field Data Collector for the National Mental Health Survey in India 2. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare funds the project, while NIMHANS coordinates the wider survey and AIIMS Kalyani leads the work across West Bengal. The Psychiatry and Community Medicine teams are jointly guiding the state assignment, so your field information will support a major public-health picture of mental illness and service needs.

This is a mobile field-research role rather than a desk-based data-entry post. You will move across survey sites, work with local authorities and coordinators, administer psychiatric survey tools, and keep the project team informed about progress. Strong Bengali communication and comfort with different local dialects are especially useful because the work depends on building trust with communities. Experience from NMHS 2 or another health survey gives you a practical advantage, but careful planning, reliable records and respectful field conduct are equally important.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Short initial engagement: the first contract is for one month and may be extended when performance, project duration and competent approval support it.
  • Project employment: you will work under the externally funded survey and will not become a direct AIIMS Kalyani employee or gain a claim to regular absorption.
  • Field travel: extensive movement to survey sites across West Bengal is central to the assignment. Local travel support is handled separately under project rules.
  • Full-time commitment: private practice or other outside professional work is not allowed during the appointment.
  • Contract closure: the engagement ends with the project or if funding support is withdrawn. Either side may also end it with the notice arrangement stated by the institute.
  • Facilities: AIIMS Kalyani does not provide hostel or other accommodation for this post.
  • Interview travel: no TA or DA is payable for attending the recruitment exercise.
  • Communication: interview updates are sent by email, so use an active address and check it along with the institute website regularly.

Application Submission Notes

Complete the annexed application proforma and email it with the specified supporting records to nmhs2survey@gmail.com. The same records must also be uploaded through the Google form identified in the official notice. Both submission channels are required, so do not treat the email alone as a complete application.

The face-to-face assessment is held at AIIMS Kalyani, Basantapur, Saguna, Nadia, West Bengal. Report at the morning time stated in the notice with your originals ready; the institute will not admit late arrivals after the cut-off. Use the official recruitment detail page to track any change because individual updates outside email are not promised.

Responsibilities

  • Plan field data collection with the project investigators
