Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), a lead centre of ISRO, is hiring 460 Apprentice Trainees across engineering disciplines, Hotel Management and general graduate streams for the training year 2026-27. If you have a fresh B.E./B.Tech, Diploma in Engineering, or Bachelor's degree, you can walk in for the selection drive. There is no online application — you simply show up with your documents on 25 July 2026. Stipend ranges from Rs. 10,900 to Rs. 12,300 per month depending on your category.

VSSC has released a notification (No. VSSC/R&R/9.2/WII-01/2026 dated 17 July 2026) inviting candidates for a Selection Drive of Apprentice Trainees under the Apprentices Act, 1961, covering B.E./B.Tech engineering disciplines, Hotel Management/Catering Technology, General Stream (non-engineering) graduates, and Diploma holders in Engineering and Commercial Practice. This is a one-year training engagement, not a permanent job — selected candidates are registered on the NATS 2.0 portal and get hands-on exposure at one of ISRO's premier space research centres. Both freshers who completed their qualification recently and diploma holders from any recognised State Board of Technical Education can apply.

Who Can Apply?

For Graduate Apprentice (Engineering Disciplines):

• You need an Engineering Degree (4-year, or 3-year for lateral entry) from a recognised university in the relevant discipline with not less than 65% marks / 6.84 CGPA.

For Graduate Apprentice (Hotel Management/Catering Technology):

• You need a First Class Degree in Hotel Management/Catering Technology from a recognised university with not less than 60% marks.

For Graduate Apprentice (General Stream - Non-Engineering):

• You need a Bachelor's Degree (3-year duration) from a recognised university with not less than 60% marks / 6.32 CGPA. Training will be in Administration, Finance & Accounts, and Purchase.

For Technician Apprentice (Diploma in Engineering):

• You need a First Class Diploma in Engineering (3-year duration) from a State Board of Technical Education.

For Technician Apprentice (Diploma in Commercial Practice):

• You need a Diploma in Commercial Practice (3-year duration) from a State Board of Technical Education with not less than 6.32 CGPA.

Important: Candidates who got their degree/diploma before April 2022, final-year students awaiting results, and those pursuing M.E./M.Tech are not eligible. You are also not eligible if you have already completed an apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act or have 1 year or more of work experience. Priority is given to candidates from universities/technical boards under the Southern Region of BoAT (Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Puducherry); others are considered only if there is a shortage of applications.

Age Limit

• Age is calculated as on 31 July 2026.
• Graduate Apprentice: UR - 28 years, OBC - 31 years, SC/ST - 33 years.
• Technician Apprentice (Diploma in Engineering): UR - 30 years, OBC - 33 years, SC/ST - 35 years.
• Technician Apprentice (Diploma in Commercial Practice): UR - 26 years, OBC - 29 years, SC/ST - 31 years.
• PwBD Candidates: Get an additional 10 years of relaxation over the applicable category limit (for example, up to 38 years for UR Graduate Apprentice PwBD candidates).

Salary

• Graduate Apprentice: Stipend of Rs. 12,300 per month.
• Technician Apprentice: Stipend of Rs. 10,900 per month.
• Canteen and transport facilities are available during training; you will need to arrange your own accommodation.

Selection Process

The selection is done in 2 stages:

1. Merit List: Based on the highest marks you scored in your qualifying degree/diploma examination, with due weightage to reservation categories.
2. Document Verification: Your original certificates are checked at the selection drive venue before you are added to the panel.

Induction into the 2026-27 training positions depends on your position in the panel, subject to vacancy availability and panel validity.

How to Apply

1. Visit the VSSC Pavilion at Karthika Thirunal Govt V&GHSS for Girls, Manacaud, Thiruvananthapuram on 25 July 2026 (Saturday) between 9:30 AM and 5:00 PM.
2. Carry your original documents and self-attested copies of your degree/diploma certificate, consolidated mark list, and SSLC/SSC/AISSE/ICSE certificate as proof of date of birth.
3. Bring your experience certificate (if any) and one passport-size photograph.
4. Carry your category certificate (SC/ST, OBC-NCL, EWS or PwBD) if you are claiming reservation.
5. Fill in the application form provided at the venue after your documents are scrutinised, and hand it over to VSSC officials along with your certificate copies.

No other mode of application will be accepted — applications are taken only on the day of the selection drive.

• Maintain training records and complete assigned learning modules
• Follow VSSC's workplace rules, safety guidelines and code of conduct
• Attend periodic assessments and reviews of your training progress
