VOCPA Assistant Director (Project) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOCPA), a major port under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has invited applications for the post of Assistant Director (Project) on a contractual basis at its Tuticorin office. The engagement is for 2 years and is subject to annual review. There is no written exam — selection is done through an interview only. This is a great opportunity for foreign-degree holders and IIT graduates who want to work with one of India's leading maritime gateways.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have a Post Graduate degree in Engineering or Management from a reputed foreign University, OR you must be a Graduate from an IIT.
• Recognised University: Your qualification must be from a recognised university. You should have a valid Mark-sheet, Degree, Diploma, Certificate or Membership.
• Email and Mobile: You must have a valid e-mail ID and a working mobile number. Keep both active during the entire engagement process.
• Document Proof: You must produce all original documents (qualification, age, identity, experience) along with photocopies at the time of engagement.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 35 years
• The upper age limit is relaxable in deserving cases as decided by VOCPA management.
• Age and experience will be counted as on 27 May 2026.

Salary

• Total monthly consolidated pay: Rs. 1,40,000 per month
• Break-up of the pay:
  • Consolidated Remuneration: Rs. 1,20,000 per month
  • Accommodation Allowance: Rs. 15,000 per month
  • Transport Allowance: Rs. 5,000 per month
• Engagement tenure: 2 years, subject to annual review by VOCPA.
• No travelling, boarding or lodging expenses are paid for the selection process or joining.

Application Fee

• No application fee — the notification does not mention any fee for applying.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on interview only. The steps are:

1. Screening: Candidates will be shortlisted based on marks scored in the qualifying examination.
2. Interview (Physical or Online): Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The interview marks will be split in the ratio of 40:30:30:
   • Technical Knowledge: 40%
   • Communication Skills: 30%
   • Suitability: 30%
3. Final Merit: Prepared based on the marks scored in the interview only.
4. Document Verification: Provisionally selected candidates will be informed by registered e-mail. You must report on the specific date with all original documents.

3. Take a printout and fill it in by hand. Affix a recent passport size photo on the right hand corner.
4. Attach self-attested copies of education, experience and age proof certificates.
5. Send the completed application by post so that it reaches VOCPA on or before 27 May 2026 at the address below:

• Handle project planning, monitoring and execution for VOCPA port development works
• Prepare detailed project reports, feasibility studies and tender documents

• Review engineering or management proposals and give technical recommendations
• Maintain project records and prepare progress reports for review meetings
• Assist senior officers in modernisation, capacity expansion and Sagarmala initiatives at VOCPA
