University of Ladakh (UoL) Associate Professor Recruitment 2026 - 6 Posts

University of Ladakh has released Advertisement Notice No. 02 of 2026 for 6 regular Associate Professor posts in Botany, Commerce, Computer Science & IT, Physical Education, Sociology and Zoology. Almost all posts are reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates under the UT Ladakh Reservation Rules, with the Zoology post also open to PwBD/Low Vision candidates on a horizontal basis. This is a senior teaching role, so it requires prior Assistant Professor-level experience along with a strong publication and research record — there is no written exam, selection is through screening and interview only. The University reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post at any time, or choose not to fill some positions, without assigning any reason — any corrigendum or amendment will be published only on the University website (uol.ac.in).

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: A good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline.
• Master's Degree: At least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) at the Master's level.
• Experience: A minimum of 8 years of teaching and/or research experience equivalent to Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry, with at least 7 publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 75.
• Domicile: ST category candidates must submit a domicile certificate as per the UT Ladakh Reservation (Amendment) Rule, 2025.
• A relaxation of 5% in marks is available for SC/ST/ALC/PwBD categories at the Graduate and Master's level for eligibility purposes, and to Ph.D. holders who obtained their Master's degree before 19 September 1991.
• Your qualifications and experience will be counted as on the closing date of the online application.

How the research score works: Your research score (minimum 75 required) is built from at least three of six categories defined in the notification: research papers in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals, other publications like books and book chapters, ICT-based teaching content (MOOCs/e-content development), research guidance such as Ph.D./M.Phil supervision and completed or ongoing research projects, patents and policy documents, and invited lectures or conference paper presentations. Papers published in journals with a higher impact factor earn more points, and for jointly authored work, the first/corresponding author gets 70% of the score while co-authors share the rest.

Salary

• Selected candidates will be placed at Academic Pay Level-13A of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per University of Ladakh rules.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Screening: The Screening Committee reviews your qualifications, experience and research score to decide who gets called for interview.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview conducted by the University.

Candidates already in government service must apply through the proper channel and may submit an advance copy, producing a No Objection Certificate at the time of interview. No interim correspondence regarding the recruitment process will be entertained, and documents submitted after the last date will not be accepted for any purpose (except the NOC, which may be produced at interview time).
