Who Can Apply?
For Direct Recruitment
- Qualification: You must have a Bachelor's degree in Zoology, Agriculture, or Animal Husbandry from a university established by law in India.
- Training: After appointment, selected candidates will complete 6 months departmental training and 6 months training under a veterinary officer.
For Departmental Employees
- Service: You must have completed 5 years continuous service in the Animal Husbandry Department, Uttarakhand, by the first day of the recruitment year.
- Qualification: You must have passed Intermediate with Biology or Agriculture from Uttarakhand or Uttar Pradesh Board, or an equivalent recognised exam.
Preferential Qualification
- Preference: Extra preference may be given if you have an NCC B certificate, NSS certificate, or 15 years active service in Himalayan Veterinary Corps as Veterinary Dresser Grade 1 or Grade 2.
Age Limit
- You should be between 21 and 42 years as on 1 July 2026.
- Your date of birth should not be after 1 July 2005 and should not be before 2 July 1984.
- SC / ST / OBC of Uttarakhand: 5 years relaxation in upper age limit.
- PwD candidates of Uttarakhand: 10 years relaxation for Group C posts.
- Freedom fighter dependents: 5 years relaxation.
- Ex-servicemen: Military service period is deducted from actual age, and the remaining age should not exceed the upper age limit by more than 3 years.
Salary
- Pay Scale: Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month.
- Pay Level: Level-6.
- You will also get DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Uttarakhand Government rules after regular appointment.

Selection Process
The selection will be done through a written competitive exam and merit list:
- Written Exam: Objective type paper with multiple-choice questions. The exam will be for 100 marks and will run for 2 hours.
- Minimum Marks: General and OBC candidates need at least 45%. SC and ST candidates need at least 35%.
- Negative Marking: For every wrong answer, one-fourth of the marks for that question will be deducted.
- Merit List: Merit will be prepared based on written exam marks. If two candidates get equal marks, the older candidate gets preference. If age is also the same, English alphabetical order is used.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce original documents, reservation certificates, and other required proofs.

Responsibilities
- Work with livestock owners and farmers to support animal husbandry services in assigned areas
- Assist veterinary officers during livestock health camps, vaccination drives, and field visits
- Keep records of livestock extension activities, training, outreach, and department schemes
- Monitor animal health issues and report field-level problems to senior veterinary staff
- Help farmers understand animal care, nutrition, breeding, disease prevention, and government schemes
- Follow Animal Husbandry Department instructions, field reporting formats, and service rules
- Prepare basic reports and coordinate with local offices for livestock development programmes
