UKSSSC Junior Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) is filling 553 Group C posts across dozens of state government departments and all thirteen district offices, through Direct Recruitment Advertisement No. 80/UKSSSC/2026 dated 31 August 2026. Most vacancies are for Junior Assistant roles spread across departments such as Transport, Election, Women Empowerment and Child Development, Higher Education, Social Welfare, and every District Magistrate's office, alongside dedicated posts like Registration Clerk, Computer Assistant, Survey Lekhpal and Assistant Mineral Supervisor. This is one of UKSSSC's largest Group C drives in recent years — Intermediate pass-outs with basic Hindi typing speed make up the bulk of the eligible pool.

Posts and Disciplines

• Junior Assistant: around 430 posts spread across more than 30 state departments and all 13 district magistrate offices — the largest single post category in this drive.
• Registration Clerk: 55 posts under the Stamp and Registration Department.
• Assistant Mineral Supervisor: 22 posts under the Directorate of Geology and Mining.
• Survey Lekhpal: 16 posts under the District Magistrate, Dehradun.
• Computer Assistant: 9 posts under Secretariat Administration-4.
• Other Inter-Level posts: Senior Assistant, Junior Assistant-cum-Data Entry Operator, Computer Operator, Telephone Operator, Land Acquisition Amin, Ahalmad-cum-Cashier, Store Keeper and Grihmata — about 20 posts together across various departments.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Typing requirement: most posts need a minimum Hindi typing speed of 4,000 key-depressions per hour on computer; some posts also ask for English typing or basic MS Office knowledge.
• Post nature: all posts are non-gazetted, permanent, and covered under the contributory (NPS) pension scheme.
• Minimum age exception: a couple of posts, such as at the Tourism Development Council and the Information and Public Relations Department, set the minimum age at 21 instead of 18 — check the post-wise eligibility in the official notification.
• One application per post: you cannot submit more than one online application for the same advertised post — every duplicate application for that post gets rejected.
• Document scrutiny: mandatory after the written exam, where your reservation, qualification and experience claims are verified against your uploaded documents.
• Editing window: a one-time online correction window opens from 12 to 14 October 2026, but your name, parents' names, date of birth and exam centre cannot be changed.

Application Submission Notes

You can apply online only, through www.sssc.uk.gov.in, in five steps: registration with your Aadhaar number, filling in educational and other details, uploading your photograph and signature, paying the fee online by card/net banking/UPI, and printing your final application. Upload your 10th certificate and both sides of your Aadhaar card to verify your name and date of birth, along with your category certificate where you are claiming reservation.
