UCSL Supervisor Recruitment 2026: Overview

Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), the Malpe-based wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, is hiring for two Supervisor posts: one in Nesting and one in Mechanical. These are regular-roll posts, not contract jobs, so this is a real chance for experienced diploma holders from shipyards and fabrication yards to move into a permanent PSU role. The notice is written for people who already supervise shop-floor work, so freshers will not qualify.

Posts and Disciplines

• Supervisor (Nesting): for diploma holders who have worked on nesting for plate processing, CNC cutting, production planning or CAD-CAM in a shipbuilding, offshore fabrication or marine engineering company, or a government establishment. A wide set of diploma branches is accepted: Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, Civil, Electronics and Communication, Computer and Automobile. This is the post open to PwBD candidates with low vision, hearing impairment or the listed locomotor disabilities.
• Supervisor (Mechanical): for Mechanical or Marine Engineering diploma holders with experience in piping, machinery or structural outfitting at a shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore fabrication or marine engineering firm, or a government establishment. This post is reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Diploma only: if you hold a higher degree such as B.Tech or M.Sc but not the prescribed three-year diploma, UCSL will not consider you. An equivalent qualification needs an equivalency certificate from the competent authority.
• Counting experience: only experience gained after your diploma counts. Apprenticeship and paid training count towards the total, but not towards the supervisory-grade part.
• Contractor experience: work done for a contractor counts only when the principal employer endorses the certificate and you add ESI/EPF statements as proof.
• Posting and transfer: you start at UCSL Malpe, but you can be moved to any UCSL unit, project site or ship, anywhere in India or abroad.
• Starting pay: you join at the minimum of the pay scale, and pay protection from your current job is not given.
• Government employees: apply online directly and upload the Annexure-I declaration that you have told your employer in writing. An objection from your employer ends your candidature.
• Ex-servicemen: upload the Annexure-II undertaking that you have not already used ex-serviceman benefits to get a civil Government job.
• Rank list: the list stays valid for up to 18 months, and later vacancies in these posts may be filled from it.
• Travel: no travel allowance is paid for the written test. SC/ST candidates called for certificate verification get a sleeper-class rail or bus fare refund.
• Jurisdiction: any legal dispute can be filed only in courts at Udupi.

Complete the one-time registration first, then apply for your post. Only one application per person is allowed, and it cannot be changed after you submit it.

After you submit, log in to My Applications and check that the status reads "In process", because drafts and incomplete forms are rejected. Keep your registration number for all correspondence.
