Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) is an autonomous society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) that promotes IT/ITES industry growth, startups, and emerging technologies like AI, blockchain, and cybersecurity across its 73 centers in India. Through Employment Notice No. 2(1)/I/STPI-HQ/2026-27, STPI has invited applications for 9 Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) posts under the Group 'A' non-S&T cadre, to be filled through direct recruitment. Out of the 9 posts, 6 are for General category, 2 for OBC, and 1 for SC candidates. Selected candidates can be posted at any STPI center in India, and the appointment starts with a 2-year probation period, which is normally extended into a regular, permanent position based on your performance.

Who Can Apply?

You need a Master's degree from a recognized university in Hindi, with English as a compulsory or elective subject (or medium of examination) at the degree level — or the reverse, a Master's degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory subject. You can also qualify with a Master's degree in any other subject, provided you studied through Hindi or English medium and had the other language as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level.

  • Additional requirement: Along with the qualification above, you must have a recognized diploma or certificate course in Hindi-English translation, OR at least 2 years of translation experience (Hindi to English and vice versa) in a Central Government, State Government, or PSU office.
  • NOC: If you already work in a Central/State Government department, PSU, or autonomous organization, you must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer at the time of applying online.
  • Your eligibility for qualification, experience, and age will be checked based on the details you provide as on the closing date of application (7 September 2026). No new information will be accepted after this date.

Age Limit

  • You should not be more than 30 years old as on 7 September 2026, the last date for receiving applications.
  • Age Relaxation: Government servants applying through this notice get up to 5 years of relaxation as per Central Government instructions. Candidates from SC, ST, OBC, and PwBD categories get age relaxation as per prevailing government rules.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month under Pay Matrix Level 6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
  • You will also get DA, HRA, TA, and other allowances as applicable under Central Government rules.

Application Fee

  • General / OBC candidates: Rs. 500 per application.
  • Female candidates (all categories): No fee.
  • SC / ST / PwBD candidates: No fee.
  • The mode of payment will be specified on the online application portal, and the fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Selection Process

Your selection for this post is entirely based on a written examination — there is no interview. Only candidates who submit a completed online application by the last date will be screened for the written test. The exam has two papers:

  1. Paper-I (Objective Type): 200 questions (100 General Hindi + 100 General English) for 200 marks, in 2 hours. This paper carries a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
  2. Paper-II (Descriptive): A Translation and Essay paper for 200 marks in 2 hours, with one passage each for Hindi-to-English and English-to-Hindi translation, plus an essay in both languages.
  3. Document Verification: Your educational, category, and experience certificates will be verified before final appointment.

To be shortlisted for Paper-II, you need to score at least 50% in Paper-I if you are General category, 45% if OBC, and 40% if SC. Your final merit is calculated using 50% weightage of your Paper-I score and 100% weightage of your Paper-II score. Candidates who use a scribe get an extra 40 minutes in each paper. The exam will be conducted only in Delhi/NCR and Bengaluru.
