If you have an MBBS degree and are registered with the Delhi Medical Council (DMC), you can attend a walk-in interview. Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital (SGMH), Mangolpuri, under Government of NCT of Delhi, has released a notice to fill 10 Junior Resident (MBBS) posts on an ad-hoc basis. The vacancies are reserved for OBC (4), SC (4), ST (1) and EWS (1) categories — but if reserved category candidates are not available, the seats can be filled from other categories. There is no written exam — selection is through walk-in interview. Freshers who completed their MBBS internship on or after 14 May 2024 are eligible.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: MBBS degree from a recognised university.
• Registration: You must be registered with Delhi Medical Council (DMC), or have applied for DMC registration on or before the last date of application submission.
• Internship: You must have completed your compulsory rotatory internship on or after 14 May 2024.
• Experience bar: You must NOT have completed one full year of Junior Residency in any recognised institution earlier (such candidates can apply only under the relaxed criteria — see below).
• OBC certificate: Only OBC certificates issued by Govt. of NCT of Delhi will be accepted, with a valid Non-Creamy Layer Certificate for the current financial year.
• EWS: You must have a valid EWS certificate for the current financial year.
• Govt. servants: If you are already in government service, you must submit an NOC from your employer.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 30 years (for General category) as on the date of interview.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years, PwD: 5 years extra (above category relaxation).
• Under relaxed criteria (for candidates who have already completed 1 year of Junior Residency or post-graduate doctors): upper age limit is 40 years.

Salary

• Pay as per 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-10: Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month.
• Plus DA, HRA and other allowances as admissible under Government of NCT of Delhi rules.

Selection Process

Selection is based on a walk-in interview. There is no written exam.

1. Walk-in Interview (14 May 2026): Report at the 4th Floor Conference Hall, Administrative Block, SGM Hospital, Mangolpuri, Delhi 110083 between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM for registration. No entry will be allowed after 12:00 PM.
2. Document Verification: All original certificates and testimonials will be verified at the interview.
3. Medical Fitness: Final appointment is subject to medical fitness and verification of certificates.

Two separate merit lists will be prepared — one for fresh candidates, and one for those under the relaxed criteria. The fresh candidates' list is used first; only if it is exhausted will the relaxed-criteria list be considered.

3. Bring the duly filled application form along with all original certificates (and photocopies) on the day of the interview.
4. Reach SGM Hospital, Mangolpuri, Delhi 110083 (4th Floor Conference Hall, Administrative Block) on 14 May 2026 between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
5. Required documents: Application form, DOB certificate (10th certificate/marksheet), caste certificate (if applicable), MBBS marksheet and certificate, Date of Completion of Internship certificate, DMC registration, Attempt certificate, and Aadhaar card.

• Provide round-the-clock patient care in assigned wards and emergency departments under supervision of senior doctors
• Assist consultants during outpatient duties, ward rounds, surgeries and emergency procedures
• Maintain accurate patient case records, prescriptions and clinical notes
• Work in shifts including night duties, weekends and on-call as per the residency schedule
• Follow hospital protocols, infection control standards and the residency scheme of Government of India
• Wear the proper white apron uniform at all times during duty hours
• Avail hostel facility (if allotted) and stay in the hospital quarters till completion of tenure
