The Health Department of Diu, under the UT Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, is hiring 8 Specialists on short-term contract basis. The Office of the Health Officer, Ghoghla-Diu has issued advertisement No. A-12034/1/2018-CHC GHO-Diu/54 dated 02.05.2026 for filling up specialist posts on Short Term Contract under the UT Plan Fund, Diu. The contract is for a fixed period of 6 months, extendable based on performance till regular candidates are appointed. Selection is through walk-in interview — no written exam required. Posts are across 7 medical specialties at Government Hospital, Ghoghla-Diu.

Total 8 posts. Candidates having domicile certificate of UT of DNH, Daman & Diu will be given preference.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must possess Graduate / Master / PG Degree / PG Diploma in the concerned specialty.
• Registration: Valid Medical Registration is compulsory.
• Domicile preference: Candidates having domicile certificate of UT of DNH, Daman & Diu will be given preference.
• The Specialist must be available on call as and when required, and residence at the headquarter is compulsory in public interest. No private practice is allowed.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 45 years
• Age relaxation may be considered for specialists by the Competent Authority.

Salary

Salary depends on qualification (PG Degree vs PG Diploma) and years of service:

Fresh (PG Degree)

• Physician, General Surgeon, Obstetrician & Gynecologist, Pediatrician, Anesthetist, Radiologist: Rs. 1,25,000 per month
• Orthopedics: Rs. 1,10,000 per month
• Pathologist: Rs. 1,00,000 per month

After 5 Years' Service (PG Degree)

• Physician, General Surgeon, Obstetrician & Gynecologist, Pediatrician, Anesthetist, Radiologist: Rs. 1,75,000 per month
• Orthopedics: Rs. 1,50,000 per month
• Pathologist: Rs. 1,25,000 per month

Fresh (PG Diploma)

• Physician, General Surgeon, Obstetrician & Gynecologist, Pediatrician, Anesthetist, Radiologist, Orthopedics: Rs. 90,000 per month
• Pathologist: Rs. 85,000 per month

After 5 Years' Service (PG Diploma)

• Physician, General Surgeon, Obstetrician & Gynecologist, Pediatrician, Anesthetist, Radiologist, Orthopedics: Rs. 1,25,000 per month
• Pathologist: Rs. 1,10,000 per month

Additional incentive-based remuneration may be given from UT Plan Fund / RKS / Govt Hospital Diu / NHM, subject to approval from competent authority.

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview Only)

Selection is based on the following:

1. Registration & Document Verification: At Office of the Collector, Seva Bhavan, Collectorate, Diu (UT) from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM on 14 May 2026.
2. Walk-in Interview: At Collectorate, Diu starting 1:00 PM on 14 May 2026.
3. Final Selection: Based on qualification, experience, and interview performance. Domicile holders get preference.

How to Apply

2. Complete registration and document verification between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM on 14 May 2026.
3. Carry a copy of bio-data along with originals and Xerox copies of educational qualification and experience certificates.
4. Attend the walk-in interview at 1:00 PM at Collectorate, Diu.
5. No TA/DA or any other claim shall be paid for attending the interview.

• Provide specialist medical care at Government Hospital, Ghoghla-Diu in your area of expertise
• Attend OPD, in-patient wards and emergency duties as per the duty roster
• Perform surgeries, procedures and diagnostic investigations specific to the specialty
• Be available on call as and when required for patient care emergencies
• Reside at the headquarter compulsorily in public interest, with no private practice allowed
• Coordinate with other specialists and paramedical staff for integrated patient care
• Maintain medical records and submit periodic reports to the Health Officer
