State Bank of India (SBI), India's largest public sector bank, has released notification CRPD/SCO/2026-27/05 for 100 Trade Finance Officer posts under the Specialist Cadre Officer (SCO) category. The recruitment is being conducted by the Central Recruitment and Promotion Department (CRPD), Corporate Centre, Mumbai. Selected officers will be posted at SBI's Centralised Trade Finance Processing Centres in Hyderabad and Kolkata. There is no written exam — selection is purely through shortlisting and personal interview of 100 marks. The position carries a probation period of 6 months.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification (as on 30.04.2026)

  • Mandatory: Graduate in any discipline from a Government-recognised University or Institution plus Certification in Forex Operations from IIBF (Indian Institute of Banking & Finance). Certificate must be dated on or before 30.04.2026.
  • Preferred: Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialists (CDCS) / Certificate in Trade Finance / Certificate in International Banking — must be dated on or before 30.04.2026.

Experience (as on 30.04.2026)

  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in Trade Finance processing in a supervisory or official role in any Scheduled Commercial Bank.
  • Teaching and training experience will NOT be counted for eligibility.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on shortlisting followed by personal interview:

  1. Shortlisting: A Shortlisting Committee constituted by the Bank will decide the shortlisting parameters. Meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee an interview call.
  2. Personal Interview: Interview will carry 100 marks. The Bank will decide the qualifying marks.
  3. Merit List: Final merit list is prepared in descending order based on interview scores only. In case of a tie, candidates are ranked by age (older first).
  4. Document Verification & Medical Examination: Final stages before issue of appointment letter.

The interview venue will be decided by the Bank. Outstation candidates called for interview will be reimbursed economy class airfare up to Rs. 10,000 (to-and-fro) for the shortest route.

Responsibilities

  • Scrutinise trade finance documents including Letters of Credit, Collections and Bank Guarantees for compliance with Bank, RBI, ICC and FEDAI guidelines
  • Process Trade Finance and Forex transactions accurately at the Centralised Processing Centre within benchmarked Turnaround Time (TAT)
  • Reconcile Trade Finance and Forex entries in the Bank's Trade Finance, Forex, CBS, IDPMS and EDPMS systems
  • Guide junior CPC staff, branch front-office teams and customers on trade finance queries
  • Track maturities, payments, customer reconciliation and ensure timely follow-up
  • Participate in RCSA, BCOR, process reviews and training to improve workflow
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, Bank, ICC and FEDAI guidelines in every transaction
  • Prepare and submit audit reports and other compliance documents on time
