Sainik School Imphal, Manipur (under Sainik Schools Society, Ministry of Defence) has invited applications for filling up 1 Electrician cum Pump Operator post and 9 General Employee posts on regular, non-transferable basis. General Employee posts are regular and non-transferable to any other school after appointment.

Who Can Apply?

For Electrician cum Pump Operator (Level 2):

• Essential: Matriculation (10th pass)
• Essential: Diploma in electrical course from a recognised institution (ITI or Polytechnic)
• Desirable: Understanding of Manipuri language and Hindi
• Desirable: Experience in a residential school like Military / Sainik Schools (7+ years in Sainik Schools is an added advantage)
• Desirable: Willingness to stay within the campus

For General Employee (Level 1):

• Essential: Matriculation (10th pass) or equivalent
• Desirable: Understanding of Manipuri language and Hindi
• Desirable: Residential school experience (Sainik Schools 7+ years preferred)
• Desirable: ITI equivalent certificates for plumbing, electrician, etc., are an added advantage
• Desirable: Willingness to stay within the campus

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 50 years as on 1 May 2026.
• Age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC and Ex-Serviceman candidates is applicable as per Central Government rules.
• However, no age relaxation will be granted beyond 50 years.

Salary

• Electrician cum Pump Operator: Rs. 19,900 per month (Level 2 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix)
• General Employee: Rs. 18,000 per month (Level 1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix)
• Plus DA and other allowances as per Sainik Schools Society Rules and Regulations.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in three stages:

1. Written Test: 30 minutes, 30 questions, 30 marks on General Knowledge and Maths of appropriate level. Question paper in English, Hindi and Regional language. Minimum pass marks 33% (may be raised to 50% by recruitment board).
2. Physical Test: 1.6 km running (20 marks) and 5 m shuttle (10 marks). For Electrician, also includes carrying 15 kg load over 100 m. For General Employee, also includes carrying 7.5 kg sack over 100 m and digging 2'x2'x2' tree pits.
3. Skill Test: 40 marks. For Electrician - electrical and pump operating works. For General Employee - specialised skill test in trades like Electrician, Plumber, Carpenter, Baker, Mason, Welder, Barber, Pump Operator, Cook, Waiter.

Only candidates qualifying in the written test are called for the Physical and Skill Test. Selection is on a purely merit basis.

• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems and water pumps across the school campus
• Handle wiring, lighting, electrical fittings and routine repairs in classrooms, hostels and staff quarters
• Assist in plumbing, carpentry, masonry and general maintenance jobs as required
• Support residential operations including hostel and mess upkeep, cleaning and minor repair work
• Help in tree plantation, gardening and load handling within the campus
• Stay within the school campus to attend to emergency electrical or pump-related issues
• Follow Sainik Schools Society safety rules and Standard Operating Procedures
• Report breakdowns, equipment status and maintenance work to the Principal/Administrative Officer
