Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise, is inviting doctors for a walk-in interview to fill 7 Consultant posts at the Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital and Research Centre and other health centres of Bhilai Steel Plant, including its mines locations. The hospital is an 860-bedded facility recognised for DNB postgraduate training in 11 medical disciplines, with specialities like Neurology, Urosurgery, Cardiology and Gastroenterology. No written exam is required — selection happens through document verification followed directly by an interview on the same day.

Who Can Apply?

For Specialist Posts:

• Qualification: MBBS with a PG Diploma or PG Degree in the relevant speciality (General Medicine, Skin, OB&G, or ENT)
• Registration: You must be registered with the Medical Council of India (MCI), National Medical Commission (NMC), or a State Medical Council (SMC), or hold a valid practitioner licence

For GDMO Posts:

• Qualification: MBBS degree with completed internship
• Registration: You must be registered with MCI/NMC/SMC or hold a valid practitioner licence

Who Can Attend the Walk-in:

• Doctors retired from Bhilai Steel Plant or other SAIL units
• Doctors retired from other PSUs or Government offices
• Any other doctor who meets the eligibility criteria above

Note: Ex-SAIL employees who took voluntary retirement are not eligible for this engagement. PwBD candidates with a minimum 40% disability can apply for GDMO posts (specific disability categories apply).

Age Limit

• The upper age limit is 69 years as on 19 August 2026, the date of the walk-in interview.
• The overall engagement tenure is subject to an upper age cap of 70 years.

Salary

• GDMO: Rs. 90,000 to Rs. 1,00,000 per month (consolidated remuneration)
• Specialist: Rs. 1,20,000 to Rs. 1,80,000 per month (consolidated remuneration), depending on your PG Diploma/PG Degree qualification and posting location (Bhilai/Mines)
• You also get a CUG mobile facility — Rs. 500/month for Specialists and Rs. 350/month for GDMOs

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection happens in two stages, both on the day of the walk-in interview:

1. Document Verification: Held from 9:30 AM to 12 Noon. Only candidates found eligible here will be allowed to appear for the interview.
2. Interview: Held between 10:30 AM and 5:00 PM the same day. A merit list is prepared separately for each discipline and category based on interview marks.

3. Gather your original certificates plus self-attested photocopies of all required documents.
4. Report to the Human Resource Development Centre, near BSP Main Gate, Bhilai Steel Plant, Bhilai 490001 on 19 August 2026, reporting time 9:30 AM.
5. Complete document verification, then wait for your interview call between 10:30 AM and 5 PM.
