RITES Limited (Rail India Technical and Economic Service) is a premier multi-disciplinary consultancy organization in the fields of transport, infrastructure, and related technologies. This recruitment is for the post of Resident Engineer (VC No. CL/08-R2/25) across four engineering disciplines. Selected candidates will be posted at various project sites across India, including the north-eastern region.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Diploma holders: Full-time Diploma in Mechanical / Civil / Instrumentation / Electrical branch of Engineering
• Degree holders: Full-time Degree in the same branches of Engineering is also accepted

Marks Required

• Diploma (General/EWS): Minimum 50% marks for unreserved posts; reserved category candidates need at least 45% marks
• Degree (General/EWS): First class or minimum 60% marks for unreserved posts; reserved category candidates need at least 50% marks

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of post-qualification work experience in Construction / Fabrication project or equivalent
• Experience is calculated as on 27 April 2026
• Training (except on-the-job training), internships, teaching, academic, fellowship, and PhD research do not count as experience
• Apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act 1961 in the relevant discipline does count

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 40 years

Salary

• Monthly Basic Pay: Rs. 17,853
• Monthly Gross Pay: Rs. 32,492
• Yearly CTC: Rs. 3,89,906
• Actual pay may vary depending on the place of posting and project terms
• The appointment is on contract basis (lump-sum), initially for 1 year, extendable based on performance

Selection Process

1. Written Test: 125 objective-type (MCQ) questions, each carrying 1 mark, for a total of 125 marks. Duration: 2.5 hours (PwBD candidates get 50 minutes extra). No negative marking. You need a minimum of 50% marks (UR/EWS) or 45% marks (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD against reserved posts) to qualify. The written test carries 100% weightage in the selection. Exam centres: Kolkata and Gurgaon. You can choose Hindi or English as the exam language.
2. Document Scrutiny: Based on your written test result and the number of vacancies, RITES will verify the documents you uploaded during the online application. Only information submitted in the application form will be considered.
