Who Can Apply?

For Manager - Ecology & Biodiversity (CP/12/26):

• You need a Master's Degree in Life Sciences — Zoology, Botany, Forestry, Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Ecology & Environment, Ecology & Biodiversity, Geography, or an equivalent qualification.
• You must have at least 4 years of post-qualification experience in the field of Ecology & Biodiversity.

For Assistant Manager - Environment (CL/07/26):

• You need a full-time Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, OR a full-time Bachelor's degree in any Engineering branch with a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering/Science/Management/Planning/Sustainability or an equivalent qualification.
• You must have at least 2 years of post-qualification experience in the field of Environment.

• Category Relaxation: General/EWS candidates need a first class degree or minimum 60% marks; reserved category candidates need at least 50% marks in the minimum qualification.
• PwBD Reservation: These posts are identified for candidates with locomotor disability (one arm or one leg affected) or hearing impairment; PwBD candidates can apply even against unreserved vacancies and will be considered on general merit.

Age Limit

• The maximum age limit is 40 years as on the last date of online application, 16 August 2026.
• Age Relaxation: OBC (NCL)/SC/ST candidates get age relaxation as per government rules. PwBD candidates with at least 40% disability get a 10-year relaxation in the upper age limit.

Salary

• Manager - Ecology & Biodiversity: Pay scale of Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1,60,000 per month.
• Assistant Manager - Environment: Monthly basic pay of Rs. 23,340 at minimum qualifying experience, with a yearly CTC of about Rs. 5,09,741.
• You will also get DA, fixed/variable allowances (23% of Basic Pay), HRA/Lease, PF contribution, and Gratuity as per company rules for contract employees.
• Actual pay depends on your place of posting and other terms of appointment — the figures above are indicative.

Application Fee

• All Candidates: Rs. 600 plus applicable taxes.
• Refund: SC/ST/PwD candidates get the fee refunded after participating in the written test or interview.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Written Test: 125 objective type questions for 125 marks in 2.5 hours. There is no negative marking. PwBD candidates get 50 minutes of compensatory time. You need at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD) to qualify.
2. Interview: Candidates are called in a 1:6 ratio to vacancies. The written test carries 60% weightage and the interview carries 40% (30% technical/professional, 10% personality/communication). You need at least 60% marks (50% for reserved categories) in the interview.
3. Document Verification: Your educational qualification and experience documents will be checked against the originals.
4. Medical Examination: You must be found medically fit as per RITES' Standards of Medical Fitness.
