Rail India Technical and Economic Service Limited (RITES) has released advertisement number YP/39-58/26 inviting applications for 23 Individual Consultant positions in 20 different vacancy categories. RITES is a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways. These are CV-based assignments for tunnel, highway and bridge projects. There is no application fee and selection is purely through interview.

All positions are based in Aizawl, Mizoram.

Who Can Apply?

For Senior Tunnel and Engineering Posts (Rs. 1,00,000+):

• Graduate or Postgraduate in Civil, Mining, Electrical, Mechanical, IT or related engineering from a recognised university
• Minimum 10 to 20 years of post-qualification experience in tunnel/highway/bridge projects
• Experience in handling major tunnel projects of 1.5 km length or more

For Assistant and Junior Posts (Rs. 20,000-50,000):

• Graduate or Diploma in Civil Engineering / Survey Engineering
• Experience requirement: NIL to 5 years depending on the post

For Quantity Surveyor and Environmental Engineer:

• Graduate in Civil / Environment Engineering with 5 to 6 years of relevant experience

Preference will be given to candidates whose CV is available on the INFRACON Portal (for positions YP/39/26 to YP/46/26). Training, internship, teaching and PhD periods will not be counted as experience.

Age Limit

• Maximum age for most posts: 62 years
• For Senior Contract Expert (YP/46/26), Tunnel Ventilation Expert (YP/47/26) and Environmental Engineer (YP/57/26): 63 years
• Age, experience and eligibility will be reckoned as on 7 June 2026 (last date of application)
• No extension will be given beyond the age of 65 years even on contract renewal

Salary

• Lowest pay: Rs. 20,000 per month (Assistant Highway Engineer)
• Highest pay: Rs. 2,00,000 per month (Team Leader cum Senior Tunnel Expert)
• Most senior expert posts: Rs. 1,00,000 to Rs. 1,70,000 per month
• Tenure: 18 to 36 months depending on the post, extendable based on performance
• No PF, ESI, Gratuity or other statutory benefits — these are pure consultant engagements with TDS deducted at source.

Selection Process

The mode of selection is Interview only. There is no written exam. Selection is done in the following stages:

1. Online Application Submission: Submit the registration form along with scanned documents on the RITES portal.
2. Document Scrutiny: All applicants will be allowed to appear for document scrutiny/verification (08-10 June 2026), either in person or online via video conferencing.
3. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be evaluated on technical skills, subject knowledge, experience, communication and interpersonal skills (10-11 June 2026).
4. Client Approval: CVs of suitable candidates will be shared with the client and offer letters will be issued only after client approval.

Police verification will be done before final engagement. Actual deployment is subject to award of work / project requirement.

3. Upload scanned copies of all certificates, marksheets, experience certificates, ID proof and PAN card.
4. Submit the application before 7 June 2026 (23:59 hours).
5. Take a printout of the submitted form and Annexure-A documents checklist.
6. Report for document scrutiny at RITES Corporate Office Gurugram, Regional Office Guwahati, or online via video conferencing on the scheduled date.

• Manage contracts, variation orders and arbitration claims for highway and bridge projects
• Assist project managers with day-to-day site supervision and progress tracking
