RITES Limited Group General Manager Mechanical Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

RITES Limited, a Navratna Government of India enterprise, has issued vacancy circular VC No. 04/26 (D) for the Group General Manager (Mechanical) post. The role is for an experienced railway mechanical officer who can work at a senior leadership level in RITES. This is a deputation post, so applications must move through the proper administrative channel, with an online registration copy and forwarded documents. The circular also mentions that a similar earlier notice remained vacant because no suitable candidate was available, so this notice is focused on finding a senior officer who matches the service and mechanical discipline requirements.

Who Can Apply?

Service and Cadre Requirement

  • Cadre: You should be an IRSME officer.
  • Level: SAG/NFSAG officers can apply. SG officers can also apply if they have 18 years of Group A service.
  • Discipline: The post is for the Mechanical stream.
  • Qualification: Degree or Diploma in the relevant discipline is counted under the marking criteria.

Deputation Conditions

  • Tenure: Normal deputation tenure is 3 years, extendable depending on requirement and performance.
  • Posting: The listed location is Gurugram, but RITES may post the officer anywhere in the country or abroad as needed.
  • Forwarding: Applications must be forwarded through the proper administrative officer with required clearances.
  • Railway Board routing: The circular says applications should be submitted to the Railway Board at least 7 days before the last date of the vacancy notice for approval and forwarding.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 57 years
  • Age is counted as on the last date of submission of application.

Salary

  • 7th CPC Level 13: Rs. 1,23,100 to Rs. 2,15,900 per month for eligible officers with 18 years Group A service.
  • 7th CPC Level 14: Rs. 1,44,200 to Rs. 2,18,200 per month for eligible IRSME officers.
  • Selected officer will get parent pay plus deputation allowance and other perks admissible on deputation.
  • RITES will provide company or leased accommodation as per entitlement.
  • The exact pay will depend on the officer's parent pay and admissible deputation rules, so check your service records before forwarding the application.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

RITES will consider applications using a 100-mark deputation assessment. The notification mentions a minimum qualifying score of 60% for being considered in the merit list.

  1. Educational Qualification: 15 marks, including 10 marks for basic minimum qualification and up to 5 marks for additional relevant qualifications.
  2. Vigilance / DAR Record: 10 marks based on vigilance history and penalty record.
  3. Performance in Service: 25 marks based on APARs for the last 5 years.
  4. Interview: 50 marks covering domain knowledge, work experience, managerial competency, and overall suitability.
  5. Document Verification: NOC, vigilance clearance, DAR record, APARs, service details, and eligibility documents will be checked.

Interview weightage is high in this selection, so your domain knowledge, work experience, managerial competency, and overall suitability matter. RITES will prepare the merit list based on the notified marking system.

How to Apply

The application process has both online registration and proper-channel forwarding. Do not rely only on the advance copy, because RITES says the forwarded application and required documents must be received within the stipulated period.

  1. Go to the RITES recruitment portal at recruit.rites.com.
  2. Fill the online registration form for this vacancy and note the generated Registration Number.
  3. Print the online application form, sign it, and attach it with the prescribed application format and detailed CV.
  4. Send the application through the respective administrative officer or HOD with No Objection, Vigilance/DAR clearance, penalty details, and APARs for the past 5 years.
  5. You may also send an advance copy to bishnunanda@rites.com or kapil.soni3@rites.com for record.
  6. Submit everything before the deadline of 24 June 2026.

Required forwarding documents are important for this post. The circular asks for NOC, vigilance/DAR clearance, penalty details if any, and ACRs/APARs for the past 5 years. If the proper-channel application does not reach RITES in time, the advance copy alone may not be considered.

For service officers, start online registration and departmental forwarding together so the proper-channel papers are not delayed.
