RITES Limited Individual Consultant (Civil) Recruitment 2026 - 8 Posts

RITES Limited (A Government of India Enterprise) has invited online applications to engage Individual Consultants on a CV-based contract for water supply, sewerage and underground drainage (UGD) projects in Gujarat. There is no written exam — selection is by interview only. These roles suit senior Civil Engineers who have spent years in quality control of water and sewerage works and want a long, project-based assignment. Retired Government servants can also apply, as allowed under Rule 177 of GFR 2017.

Who Can Apply?

Senior Quality cum Material Engineer (Rs. 1,00,000/month)

• Qualification: Degree in Civil Engineering. A PG Degree in Civil Engineering with specialisation in Environmental Engineering or Public Health Engineering is preferred.
• Experience: Total 15 years after graduation, with at least 10 years in quality control of the Water/Sewerage sector. You must have handled at least 5 similar projects as a QA/QC Engineer and worked on projects with a cumulative capital value of Rs. 500 crore in Water Supply, Sewerage or Drainage.

QA/QC Expert (Rs. 85,000/month)

• Qualification: Degree in Civil Engineering. A PG in Civil Engineering with specialisation in Environmental Engineering or Public Health Engineering is preferred.
• Experience: Total 12 years, with at least 7 years in quality control of the Water/Sewerage sector. You must have handled at least 2 similar projects as a QA/QC Engineer and be familiar with setting up Quality Assurance Programs for Water Supply or UGD projects.

Training, internship, teaching, fellowship and PhD research periods are not counted as experience.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 62 years (as on the last date of application, 13 July 2026).
• No extension will be given beyond the age of 65 years during the engagement.

Salary

• Senior Quality cum Material Engineer: Rs. 1,00,000 per month
• QA/QC Expert: Rs. 85,000 per month
• This is a fixed consultancy fee. You will not get PF, ESI or Gratuity, as this is a contract role. Income tax (TDS) will be deducted as per rules.
• You will get leave at the rate of 1.5 days for each completed month. No TA/DA is paid for joining, completing or attending the interview.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The mode of selection is interview only:

1. Online Application: Submit your application form with all scanned documents on the RITES portal.
2. Document Scrutiny: RITES checks your eligibility, qualification and experience. Only those who meet the criteria move ahead.
3. Personal Interview: You are judged on technical skills, subject knowledge, experience and communication. You can attend in person or through video conferencing.
4. Client Approval: CVs of suitable candidates are shared with the client. Those whose CV is approved by the client get the Engagement Letter.

Police verification is done after selection as per Government (MHA) rules. If it comes back negative, the engagement ends.

Good to Know

• You will work as an independent consultant, not a regular RITES employee, so there are no PF, ESI or gratuity benefits.
• Either side can end the contract by giving one month's notice.
• The number of vacancies may change as per project need.
• Results will be uploaded on the RITES website after the selection committee's recommendation.
• If you already work somewhere, you must be relieved from your current job before joining RITES.

• Coordinate with site engineers and the client to fix quality issues
