RITES Limited is hiring 1 Additional General Manager (Mechanical) on a deputation basis. This post is open only to IRSME officers of Junior Administrative Grade (JAG) level. If you are an eligible IRSME officer, you can apply through your department within 45 days from the date of the vacancy notice (25 May 2026), which works out to around 09 July 2026. The post carries 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-12 along with deputation allowance.

RITES Limited Additional General Manager (Mechanical) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

RITES Limited, a Navratna enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has released Vacancy Circular No. 12/26 (D) to fill one post of Additional General Manager (Mechanical) on deputation. This is a re-advertisement — the post was earlier advertised under VC No. 26/25(D) dated 01 December 2025 but remained vacant because the selected officer could not join. The base location is Gurgaon, but the officer can be posted anywhere in India or abroad as per requirement.

Who Can Apply?

• Service: You must be an IRSME (Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers) officer.
• Grade: You should be at the Junior Administrative Grade (JAG) level.
• Vigilance: You must have a clear Vigilance / DAR record, with No Objection from your department.
• This is a deputation post — only serving railway officers can apply through proper channel.

Age Limit

• The IRSME officer should not be more than 57 years of age as on the last date of submission of the application.

Salary

• 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-12.
• As per Railway Board guidelines, you will get your parent pay plus deputation allowance and other perks admissible on deputation.
• RITES will also provide Company / Leased Accommodation as per entitlement.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on a 100-mark weightage system:

1. Educational Qualification (15 marks): 10 marks for basic minimum qualification (degree/diploma in the relevant discipline) and up to 5 marks for additional qualifications (1 mark each).
2. Vigilance / DAR (10 marks): Full 10 marks if there is no vigilance history. Reduced to 7.5 for minor penalty cases and 5 for major penalty cases.
3. Performance in Service / APARs (25 marks): Based on the last 5 years' APARs (Outstanding-5, Very Good-4, Good-3, Good+-3.5, Average-2, Below Average-1).
4. Interview (50 marks): Based on domain knowledge, work experience, managerial competency and overall suitability, decided by the Interview Committee.

Candidates scoring 60% or above are qualified for consideration in the merit list.

How to Apply

1. Go to the Career section of the RITES website at rites.com and fill the online registration form. The system will generate a Registration Number.
2. Take a printout of the online form, sign it, and attach it with the application in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-III) along with your detailed CV.
3. Route your application through your administrative officer (HOD) with No Objection, Vigilance/DAR clearance and the last 5 years' ACRs/APARs.
4. The forwarded application must reach RITES within 45 days from 25 May 2026.
