Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited is a leading profit-making company in the business of manufacturing and marketing Fertilizers and Industrial Chemicals. RCF has manufacturing units in Maharashtra at Thal (Dist. Raigad) and Trombay (Chembur, Mumbai). This recruitment is for the Unionized Category under Advertisement No. 17022026. After successful completion of the 6-month training, you will be absorbed as Operator (Chemical) Grade II in the A6 pay scale.

Who Can Apply?
You need to meet any one of the following qualification requirements. The cut-off date for eligibility is 01 February 2026.
Option 1: B.Sc. (Chemistry) Route
- Full-time and regular B.Sc. (Chemistry) Degree from a UGC/AICTE recognized university with Physics as one of the subjects during any of the 3 years
- Must have passed the NCVT exam in Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant) — AO(CP) Trade
- The NCVT must be completed after passing the B.Sc. degree
- Minimum 55% marks in last year or average of last two semesters (50% for SC/ST)
Option 2: Diploma in Chemical Engineering Route
- Full-time and regular 3-year Diploma in Chemical Engineering/Technology from UGC/AICTE recognized institution
- Successful completion of 1-year BOAT (Board of Apprenticeship Training) under the Apprentice Act, 1961
- OR HSC (Science) candidates with direct admission to 2nd year/3rd semester of the Diploma
- Minimum 55% marks in Diploma (50% for SC/ST)
Option 3: Sandwich Pattern Diploma Route
- 4-year (8 semesters) or 3.5-year (7 semesters) full-time Diploma in Chemical Engineering/Technology under Sandwich pattern
- OR HSC (Science) with direct admission to 2nd year/3rd semester of Sandwich pattern Diploma
- Minimum 55% marks in Diploma (50% for SC/ST)
Important: Candidates in the final year of Graduation/Post Graduation are NOT eligible. Only candidates who have already passed the required qualification can apply. Candidates with higher qualifications than what is prescribed will NOT get any extra benefit.
Age Limit
Your age will be calculated as on 01 February 2026:
- Unreserved (UR): Maximum 30 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Maximum 33 years
- SC/ST: Maximum 35 years
- Ex-Serviceman / Children or family members of 1984 riot victims: Additional 5 years relaxation
Salary
- During Training (6 months): Consolidated stipend of Rs. 22,000 per month + free hostel accommodation on sharing basis + free medical facility at RCF Hospital + Sports Complex access
- After Absorption (Operator Grade II - A6): Pay scale of Rs. 22,000-60,000
- Total Monthly Gross Salary: Approximately Rs. 47,800 at the minimum of A6 scale, which includes Basic Pay + VDA (53.4%) + Perks (34%) + HRA (30% for Class A cities)
- Other Benefits: Performance Related Pay (PRP), Free Medical for self and dependents, Gratuity, Contributory Provident Fund, Accident Insurance, Social Security Schemes, and company accommodation (subject to availability)

Selection Process
The selection process has two stages. There is no personal interview for this Group C (workmen category) recruitment.
- Online Test (Computer-Based, Objective Type) — 100 questions, 200 marks, 90 minutes. The test has two parts:
- Part 1 — Discipline Related: 80 questions (160 marks) from the course curriculum of your qualifying degree/diploma
- Part 2 — Aptitude: 20 questions (40 marks) covering General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, and General Knowledge/Awareness
- Each question carries 2 marks. There will be negative marking for wrong answers
- Medium of test: Marathi, Hindi (Rajbhasha), and English
- Exam centers: Mumbai and Nagpur
- Skill Test (Qualifying Nature) — Based on your online test performance, you will be called in the ratio of 1:7 (7 candidates per vacancy):
- Practical Job Knowledge and Handling of Technical Equipment: 80 marks
- Safety Awareness and Computer Knowledge: 20 marks
- Total: 100 marks. Qualifying marks: 60 (55 for SC/ST)
Candidates with nil marks or negative marks in the Online Test will NOT be considered for the Skill Test. Final merit is based on 100% weightage of the Online Test score.

Responsibilities
- Handle and operate chemical plant equipment including valves, pumps, and reactors in rotating shifts
- Monitor process parameters and maintain production logs for fertilizer and chemical manufacturing operations
- Follow standard operating procedures for safe handling of chemicals, equipment, and materials
- Assist senior operators in troubleshooting equipment issues and ensuring smooth plant operations
- Manage lifting and moving of heavy equipment and materials as required by plant operations
- Prepare daily reports on production output, equipment status, and safety observations
- Work in rotating shifts including night shifts at Trombay or Thal manufacturing units
- Keep the plant area clean and follow all safety, health, and environmental guidelines set by RCF

Exam Pattern
The selection process for RCF Operator (Chemical) Trainee has two stages. There is no personal interview.
Stage 1: Online Test (Computer-Based Objective)

- Total Marks: 200 (each question carries 2 marks)
- Duration: 90 minutes
- Part 1 — Discipline Related: 80 questions (160 marks) — from the course curriculum of your qualifying degree/diploma in relevant discipline
- Part 2 — Aptitude: 20 questions (40 marks) — General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, and General Knowledge/Awareness
- Negative Marking: Yes, there will be negative marking for wrong answers
