Pondicherry University is engaging a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the Department of Ecology and Environmental Sciences, School of Life Sciences. The fellowship belongs to a time-bound project funded by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) and led by Dr. T. Jayakumar. Its research examines the molecular action of newly synthesised ruthenium(II) metal complexes in the treatment of lung adenocarcinoma, connecting environmental and life-science expertise with experimental cancer research. This is a laboratory-intensive project appointment, not a regular university post.

The fellow's core work sits at the meeting point of molecular target analysis, cell culture and animal experiments. You will help turn experimental observations into organised datasets, reports and manuscripts while also keeping the project moving from day to day. The notice particularly values practical familiarity with Western blotting, PCR and SDS-PAGE, and it gives preference to candidates who have already handled cell cultures and laboratory animals. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: the initial engagement is for one year or until the project finishes, whichever happens first. The fellowship is co-terminus with the funded scheme and does not create a claim to a regular university appointment.
• Temporary status: service conditions follow Pondicherry University and funding-agency rules applicable to the project.
• Interview shortlisting: meeting the stated qualification does not by itself guarantee an interview opportunity. The duly formed selection committee makes the selection through interview.
• Certificate check: if you attend the interview, you must bring original certificates along with self-attested copies for verification.
• Institutional discretion: the university or principal investigator may withdraw the notice or decide not to fill the fellowship if project circumstances change.
• Travel support: no TA or DA is provided for attending the interview, so you must arrange and fund your own travel to Puducherry.
• Research conduct: the work includes animal experiments and cell-culture activity, so you must follow the laboratory's approved procedures, documentation controls and safety practices.
