Panjab University, Chandigarh is hiring one Guest Faculty (Chinese) for its Department of Chinese & Tibetan Languages. Panjab University Guest Faculty (Chinese) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has released a walk-in notice to appoint one Guest Faculty to teach Chinese in the Department of Chinese & Tibetan Languages for the 2026-27 academic session. This is a lecture-basis engagement and there is no written exam. If you are fluent in Chinese and meet the UGC norms, you just need to walk in with your documents on the interview day. The teaching covers three levels — the Certificate Course, Diploma Course and Advanced Diploma Course in Chinese.

Who Can Apply?

You need to meet the UGC norms for this teaching post. The essential qualifications are:

• Master's Degree: A Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in Chinese language, literature, or an allied discipline from an Indian or accredited foreign university.
• NET/SET: You must have cleared the UGC/CSIR NET or a similar accredited test (SET/SLET).
• Ph.D. Exemption: If you hold a Ph.D. degree awarded as per the UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016, you are exempted from the NET/SET requirement.

A 5% relaxation in the Master's degree marks is given to candidates from SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/PWD categories.

Salary

• You will get an honorarium of Rs. 1,500 per lecture.
• The total monthly pay is capped at Rs. 50,000 per month.
• You must give an undertaking that you will not draw any fellowship, stipend, or financial help from any agency while you teach here as Guest Faculty.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done through a walk-in-interview. There is no written test for this post.

1. Document Verification: Bring your original certificates and attested copies so the department can check them.
2. Walk-in Interview: The department panel will assess your subject knowledge and teaching ability as per UGC norms.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
