Punjab & Sind Bank, Regional Office Shimla has released a notice for engagement of a Bank's Medical Consultant on contractual basis. The role is for medical advice and consultation for bank staff and their family members during prescribed working hours. This is a part-time contract role, not regular bank employment.

Who Can Apply?

• Preferred qualification: M.D. in General Medicine recognised by the Medical Council of India with at least 5 years experience after passing M.D.
• Alternative qualification: MBBS or BHMS with at least 7 years experience after passing MBBS/BHMS as a registered medical practitioner.
• Preference: Doctors who are currently or previously empanelled with PSUs or banks will get preference.
• Registration: You should have the required medical registration certificate and attach it with the application.

The bank gives first preference to an M.D. in General Medicine. If an M.D. doctor is not available, the bank may engage a suitable MBBS or BHMS doctor with the required experience.

Salary

• Hourly pay: Rs. 800 per hour
• Working hours: 8 hours per week
• Monthly equivalent: Around Rs. 25,600 per month if calculated for four weeks of duty.
• Other benefits: The consultant will not get regular employee benefits such as leave, LFC, provident fund, gratuity, bonus, medical reimbursement, briefcase or newspaper allowance.

Selection Process

1. Application scrutiny: The bank will check applications and supporting documents.
2. Shortlisting: Shortlisted applicants will be called for interview by email.
3. Interview: Final selection will be based on the interview for engagement as Medical Consultant.
4. Engagement letter: The selected candidate will receive the engagement letter by email.
5. Waiting list: If the selected candidate refuses or does not accept within the given time, the next candidate may be offered the engagement based on interview marks.

The bank may raise the minimum eligibility standards to limit the number of people called for interview. Its decision on shortlisting and interview will be final.

• Certify and countersign admissible medical bills for reimbursement processing
• Give medical opinion for sick leave, extra ordinary leave and transfer cases
• Conduct medical checkup of new recruits when requested by the bank
• Prescribe medicines and suggest routine treatment during prescribed visiting hours
• Assist the bank in medical emergencies and other medical cases when required
